if you wrap the strip well in bubble wrap AND have a full lentgh of wood (or something equally stiff) to stop it bending it should be fine.
I've bought 2 of ebay over the years and they've both cracked in the middle where they've flexed and both have had chunks broken offf the end where the parcel has been dropped in transit.
I think the above methods could have eliminated this problem.
i do know others who think I've been a bit unlucky.
