Tree Sap

any ideas what's best to use for removing tree sap from the bodywork?
my car's been laid up for a few weeks and has a film of it over the
flat areas of the body. tried to wash it but it's not for coming off!

I'd go for some tardis (autosmart tar & glue), and then use a clay bar afterwards
