Audi 100 turbo auto problems help!!
Hi guys I recently purchased an Audi 100 turbo auto 1990 model - it's been fine until today when I approach a junction and slow down from speed the car idles funny and tries to run away from me whilst i have my foot on the brake. It then cuts out and i ahve to start the engine again??? Have any of you experienced this or know what it could be?? I would be very grateful

Hi
Sounds like the idle stabiliser valve isnt stabilisng your idle as it should, when you take your foot off the gas. With an Auto this will be even worse,as you know! Im sure a member here will know where the valve is on these. You can try searching for the part on the net. When you have a picture, you can match it with the part under the bonnet. Nine times out of ten, these valves get gunked up,and a good spray through with Carb Cleaner does the trick.A breakers can also sell you a 2nd hand Valve.New from GSF IM guessing £120ish. Hope that helps Steve:) |
hi i had the same problem but mine is a manual non turbo. i thort it was the idle valve changed it and no differance it was the injector o rings. just try and spray wd40 at the injectors and see if the engine pics up .if it dont just hold the idle valve and see if its humming.has he says it might need a good clean with carb cleaner.if you still have probs i have a spare valve i think will fit i need to know the part no.
