Fuel Filter?
does anyone know where the fuel filter will be on my 1990 90 quattro? it's the 20v 7A engine.
thanks, craig  |
Hi Craig Should be underneath the floor pan just forward of the rear axle to the left of centre, just about to do mine,15 quid from my local motor factors, the connections look well rusted up, so might be a challenge!! most important thing is to keep any crap getting into the fuel system.let you know how it went.

thanks andy - i was at kwik fit the other day with the car up on the ramp - it's in perfect condition under there!! i did notice a gizmo roughly the size of a traditional ignition coil sitting where you mentioned. i never gave it much thought at the time as i was too busy checking out the exhaust - it this the device where the filter lurks?
winter tyres going on next week too! :D |
what tyres did you go for ?
|
i havent decided yet, eddy. the cheap tyre guy in killie has continental winter tyres for £50 each, or might go for the Maxsport Alaska 3 from your place. off on hols next week so will decide then.
 |
£50 for continentals, bargin, I have winter contacts fitted to my A2 tdi, had them on ALL YEAR, good tyre athough I think Contis have quite a soft side wall ?
Once you get them fitted we will need to get up to Glencoe to see if we can use the old busses as a ski lift :D |
i'm not too bothered if they're on the soft side as i'll only have them on for the winter months and won't use the 90 as often as the old 80 tdi - it's too damned dear on the gas!!
aye, a trip up north would be brilliant - i'm sure that we can enlist some more quattro enthusiasts to join us in the snow! |
