Old School & Retro Fetish
Ok listen up all, we all know we share alust for old school, classic, retro, odd cars and this got me thinking (oh no!)
What else do you own or collect which is old school. We are not talking vintage here, more your 60's, 70's or 80's stuff which you just can't resist. My personal weakness is silver Technics hi-fi. None of the nineties mini jap stuff for me though nor that horrible brown and black stuff. Has to be full size silver stuff. Also like Pioneer, Panasonic, Leak, AKAI, anything of that ilk but it MUST BE BIG and SILVER. Got it?? BIG AND SILVER! Here's what I mean. My current hifi, it's a real technics baby complete with turntable http://i236.photobucket.com/albums/f...troHiFi001.jpg http://i236.photobucket.com/albums/f...troHiFi003.jpg http://i236.photobucket.com/albums/f...troHiFi004.jpg and here's my favorite bit of kit, an AKAI reel to reel and it sounds fantastic http://i236.photobucket.com/albums/f...troHiFi007.jpg http://i236.photobucket.com/albums/f...troHiFi006.jpg |
Jesus that's a serious bit of kit. Does it have the 4 foot high big furry speakers with it? Had a fantastic Technics back in the eighties, it had a touch screen graphic equliser of twelve a side if I remember rightly. I am currently after a new 'mini' hi-fi' now ( we are apparantly going minimalist) but not sure what to go for.

probably still better quality that half the technics crap you can buy today!
My stereo system isn't old skool enough for here! Got and 80gb Ipod and a thing with speakers to plug it into! That's minimalist enough and we've got 15,000 tunes at the touch of a button! |
I have these here and yes we still use LP's here as well :p
