Are all B3/B4 Coupes not E line cars??
OK,sounds a bit confusing at first but bear with the Groom......
On the tailgate on the 89-2000 Coupe/Cabs the badging gives engine size then the letter E for example 2.6 E Ive seen a few with no E. Im assuming that this means the non E-Line cars came with certain stuff missing. Can anyone shed any light?? Steve:) |
What does the E stand for?
or what did it stand for rather? Our old 80 avant quattro was a 2.6e and our old coupe was a 2.2 e |
E line cars... :D :D :D
E stand for Einspritzung, Injection in german :p Golf GTI is GTI, not GTE only because Audi already used that name for sporty version of Audi 80 - GTE. And here is the reason, why GTE was called "sport" for uk market - because buyers would not understand, what tha f means GTE, just like u both there :D :D While name "sport" can't be confused - very sporty car, isn't it? :D But it's just simple Audi 80 with block of 1.8 carburatted engine with different head for injectors and fuel injection - biggest difference, and this is what E stands for :) And this E letter is seperate, so it may be lost - it's glued with double sided adhesive tape :) I recently get some stuff from one B3 in junkyard, including front electrical windows, and, also badges "Audi" "80" "oooo" "2.0" "E" :) |
Btw this is one of funniest thing I saw in last month :D Mr. catgroom, how u would cal B3 1.8 carburatted [1.8S on rear of the car] - "S line" :D Goddamn it, I have turned my B3 from "s-line" to "e-line" :( :D
