Inlet manifold.
The later inlet manifold ( flat ribbed top ) off a 10v 90 will fit my KV head with no issues. However, will the exhaust manifold off a 20v ( 7A ) head fit my KV head also so I can have the 5 branch tubular manifold. Not sure on this.:confused::confused:

As for the later inlet manifold, i thought the NG injectors were mounted 'inside' the inlet manifold rather than in the head like on the KV, so u would have to block off the other injectors ports in the head? unless its possible to fit the NG head on the KV block maybe? Then again, i've never looked at a 20valve engine, or an NG.. So i doubt i've any idea what i'm talking about. lol :D |
Cant see the tubular one fitting Richard, its got different port shapes and probably spacings....might be possible to "make" it fit tho. ;)

Also, is the pipe length/configuration right (IIRC 5-into-1, 800mm long) for an engine that has different torque characteristics? KV is torquey low down and 7A needs the nuts revved off it.
ISTR the bloke in Luxembourg (Custom Auto Craft) was talking about making a tubular exhaust manifold for the KV, but sometimes it takes a while for him to get things into production. Any ideas for improving performance of a KV are welcome - it would be great to get it to about 150bhp without having to remortgage the house. |
As the KV already makes 136bhp youre not far from your target.
Intake ports may help you get there if theyre worked over, exhaust also. There are some calculations regarding header primary lengths and diameters but ive no idea if the 20 valve manifold is anywhere near it, however, id suspect itd not be miles away as the 20valve is almost the same capacity as the KV with similar exhaust pulse separations so it might work...it might not. |
