Tight?? Remove subframe, put it on ground and place it on something so it's a bit above ground, take adequate size object, for example, bit from wrench set, put it on bush you want to remove and use your hammer :D

Small gas bottle, waft the flame on the rubber for two minutes and hey presto, the rubber will fall out. Inner bush usually come too. Much less labour intensive than hitting socket with hammers in that it's just a bit of left to right wrist action with the magic tin of fire!

yep i used the fire option :)

Youll never get them out with a hammer, the rubber just soaks up all your blows.

I used a collar (large diameter tube) that fits over the larger end to support the subframe then squeezed them out (and in) with a vice.
No drama. :)

I did similar, using a smaller socket to pull the mount through into a larger socket. Bit of threaded rod and some nuts.
I used the same method on wishbones, which meant the could be done in situ.

I have the luxury of the use of a fly press and hydraulic press at work, they pop out nicely on the fly press.

But failing that, the threaded bar option is the least dramatic. I used this to get the new ones in as well .

It can be a bit tricky using a vice, especially single handed, getting it all lined up and then doing it up.

I agree with Tony's hammer comment, they are designed as shock absorbers!

The fire option does work, but make sure you have an 80 sport around in case of a calendar photo opportunity :D.
