That's very very strong money for what is, for all intentents and purposes, a restoration case, regardless of the engine spec. Get it for the right money and sort out body and paint and a fettle through the handling department, keeping it standard, and it will hold it's money well one day. Rare car.

Bidding was around a £1000 when it was pulled.

Unfortunately, it was not pulled, the bidding ended at £1000 with the reserve not met.

A re spray is pretty much all this needs to make a cracking car. To call it a restoration is a bit of an insult to the amount of work that has been done to all that is left to do.

I am unable to finish as my wife is expecting and i cannot justify the car.

was hoping for near the £2000 mark, which with all old cars, nowhere near covers original cost of car and parts.

As I say, i cannot afford to keep now, any sensible offer will be considered.

the main problem that you are facing is that even after a respray (£1000+) the car still isnt going to be worth much more than what your asking

although it looks like a good project i think you will struggle to get the asking price sadly ,

good luck with the sale though, the engine itself im sure will sell the car!

No insult from me Hillybilly, but if a total, glass out re-spray, and the A pillars, is not classed as restoration work then I don't know what is. You have a rare car there, that's for sure. In good nick ( paint wise) I reckon on the right day you'd see £2500 maybe £3000 if you doing well. The engine is the heart of the car in this case.

sorry booty,I didn't mean to come across so ar$3y.

Just a bit upset about having to sell up. its been my daily driver since march and I love it, its just my situation has changed and it has to go.

I know the price seems over the odds but its just a guide, I'd rather she went to an enthusiast for less obviously, so no sensible offer would be refused.

No issue here Sir. What is the engine like, or I should say, is it much different from a standard KV ( 136bhp) lump performance wise?

I've had a bit of experience with the RE2500's and (as discussed on the Isle of Man) a good, well sorted, well maintained (and these are critical) RE2500 is a strong, durable and enthusiastic engine.... These are all caveats, the engine also has many failings in longevity.
