So, you've been out......
 
........ for a drive, your car has discs and pads all round - should there be any heat on the rear wheels (alloys) when you stop?

a/ Nil

b/ Slight Heat

c/ roasting

depends on how much/hard you have used your brakes

you will allways get heat soak

Nil, assuming normal driving.(and your brakes are in correct working order, wheel bearings haven't collapsed and you've remembered to release the hand-brake !)

The rears do 5% to less than 10% of the work. So compare them with the front and - more importantly - with each other.

I did that the other day, got to the bottom of the road and wonderred why the van stopped itself when I took my foot off the juice :wierdo:

I did it,when I 1st started driving.:lol:
Wasn't fully on,one click.They didn't half,heat up.:lol:

If they are roasting could well be siezing up,common problem with rear discs due to under use.
