Shiply
About a month ago I bought a car on ebay. I haven't got the time to go and get it myself (seriously, not had a day off in 3 weeks).
I knew how busy I was going to be, so I listed it up on Shiply to see if I can get a decent quote. I got a fair one off a bloke in Chesterfield. One man band sorta thing, but I tend to go with look after the little guy so I accepted that, paid Shiply thier fee and deposit on the job. He got 30 miles away from picking it up and his clutch went so he had to get himself recoverred home and abort the job. Wish he'd said he was using a land rover, then I'd have expectted him not to have made it :hand:
I said no worries, I'm in no rush, sellers in no rush, just let us know when you get it sorted, or if you want to take a pass on the job let me know. He was sound enough about it and said the choice is mine and I'll be able to get a refund off Shiply if I need it done quicker.
3 weeks on, he's still not able to do the job, so I email Shiply for a refund using their support centre, and a normal email, and relist the item on there.
The next day I get a reasonable bid off a big transport company. I accept it, pay the fee and deposit (again). They ring the seller, then email me to tell me they can't collect because they won't be able to access the address with their artic.... fair comment, but wish we'd been able to find this out before.
So I try to login to Shiply's support centre, and it doesn't work, they haven't answerred my first email. I have a look on their website and find an 0207 number for their press office. It's just a voicemail. I go on the Paypal transaction and find they have an 0161 number, so I ring that. Two options, both are recorded messages.
Now Shiply have about £100 of my hard earned (actually about what it would have cost me to run down and pick it up myself in the first place), that I've got to trust Paypal to try and get back for me. I can't get hold of them, and my car's still where it was in the first place... a month ago. :wall:
