Mass Airflow Meter Cleaning

Hello All,

I hear that you can buy a special spray specifically for cleaning a MAF. Cleaning the MAF should restore its performance.

Can you use anything else, such as electrical contact cleaning spray, to do the same job?

ive used electrical cleaning spray and mine have been fine, a lot of people dont recommend it but ive never had a problem

i think as long as it doesnt leave a residue, your ok

I have used both carb cleaner (takes longer to dry) and also brake cleaner (drys quicker) just done mine on the 20v cq can't say it's made that much difference really. but hey it's probably never been done in 21 years so it can't hurt just be gentle and don't touch the contacts or drop it and you will be fine
