Underground Art Films...
This cold be the shortest thread ever, but hey ho!
Just wondering if anyone else is in to urban/underground art films? Just watched Wholetrain which is superb, but earlier this week, I also watched Quality of life. I doubt very much anyone else will appreciate it, but for the cinematography alone, it's absolutely superb. |
Maybe a short thread, but could be very interesting.
Tell me what is your criteria for an urban/underground film? In the US we have an I.F. channel on satelite that is all independent films. Some of these in final release or distibution are supported by a strata of Hollywood. They better ones ride the line between selling out and staying true, often serving as stepping stones for the filmakers first major release. I assume you really mean "independent", student or art films. I highly recommend browsing Vimeo ( on the web) once a week to see what's new. There are some stellar short films, animation, interviews and music videos. It's becomming addictive. Here's a link to an example I watched this morning. http://vimeo.com/19302305 A group off friends have down some art films. My m8 Jesse made a Zombie short film years ago called "Night of the Living Lush". A few years back he shot a film in San Francisco called "Bad Penny", which I think he is still editting when finances allow. |
More on about independent films on the underground art of graffiti.
The camera shots and angles and the thought that went in to filming Quality of life made it one of the best films I have watched in a long time. |
