Ken Block Gymkhana Three - Mildly good driving skills!

Video says it all!

Wouldn't fancy being his co-driver!

No doubt about it, he's a clever bugger...

But he's not shone on the WRC like you'd expect. I think it's the difference between spectacular and fast that's caught him out.

Yes, he certainly is and he is doing great things for 'proper' motorsport in the USA but...

As most of us know, in real rallying you get to do a slow recce or two then you drive at the limit according to your notes. In most of the rallying in this country, we do it 'blind' (no recce). In his videos, you can often see just how many times every turn has been practiced and practiced and practiced then (and I don't actually know this), I'm sure it's all shot over and over ;)

I have friends (yes, I do) who drive in one or another precision driving team where they do really amazing things with cars but when they are out in the forests, they are average drivers (not that there's anything to be ashamed of there either!)

It's great to watch though and the real performer is the car ;)

EDIT: talk about popularising the sport (through bloody awful music but, ugh):

The boy definately has skills.
I'd wager that if he really let loose in the forests for a few seasons he'd be a force to be reckoned with.

Music......meh.

He does come from skateboarding and then into amatuer rallying in the states. He's also very humble about his ability in the WRC. Any interviews you see he'll admit he is unable to match pace and that this is really a learning year. Regardless of piecing the shots together too i'd say its impressive enough being able to carry out the stunts at all... Some show great skill in precision driving and afterall we're only human so mistakes are part of the parcel.

Rallycross fiesta is evil.... its detuned from 800bhp according to Olsberg.

must admit to not being that keen on watching these lately, I did not like the finish how he blew the tyres up and I thought that it was supposed to be a non contact show as he definately hit something at the start. Apart from that definately has skills.

must admit this is a good spoof
