audi A6 avant rear number plate surround removal
 

Hi folks, does anybody know where I can get a manual or instructions on how to remove the rear number plate surround on my A6 avant, year 2000, 1.9 Tdi. it has got some condensation inside of it, probably due to a knackered seal or something. cheers Daz

It may be the same as the saloon where you remove the boot trim and remove about 6 or 8 nuts including the boot lock and then gently prize the trim away. It is stuck with orrible
black dum dum type of sealer. Be patient or you could crack the surround, work your way around with a scraper.
I drilled two holes, one either end where the water collects, facing downwards so you cant see and any water drains out. Sealed the trim back on with the orrible black dum dum and some clear silicone from diy shop. Looks like new and stays dry.
