Badge removal
I'm sure this may have been coverd before- but I was probably dozing :o
Whats the best way to remove badges stuck on with 3M tape without damaging the paintwork. I've access to a steamer/kettle/hairdryer etc Thanks |
Hair dryer to soften then either cheesewire or seafishing line, watch yer fingers though

I removed some of the mouldings on a pair of wings I was sending for blasting. Used a Black and Decker hot air gun on the inside of the panel and this softened the glue enough so they could then be eased off with a plastic scrapper no problemo

As jj said heat then fishing line. Hardest part is cutting tape to the right shape to fit the buggers back on.

I've got a new badge to go on the "rusty Italian" and although I'm actively considering repainting the rear hatch I'm itching to put it on now and not wait!
Patience is something I'm going to have to learn :) |
