removing injectors NF / NG engine
Hi,
I finally got some replacement fuel lines for my car (the pipes from the metering head to the injectors have rusted away and split). It is a 1990 Audi 100 quattro with the NF 2.3 engine. I have removed the 6 fuel lines (5 injectors and 1 cold start valve) from the metering head. The Haynes manual says "unscrew fuel lines from injectors, replacement is the reverse of removal". I tried to unscrew the pipes from the injectors, but the injectors came out of the inlet manifold, complete with a plastic insert they sit in. In this diagram: http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y21...ver/018000.png the insert is part number 9, part 6 is the injector (usual metal tube thing) (insert for injector part number 026133557A) The injector spins round and round in the insert, but won't come out. I have the injectors sat in a bucket of petrol to try and clean out any crap. HELP ME!!!! How do I get the injectors out? Brute force? Thanks Steve |
if theyre the same as a WR quattro, just need a screw driver to ease them out, held in place by a rubber seal with the injector enclosed in a yellow plastic sheath.

I will have a quick try tomorrow.

If they were anything like the injectors in my DZ engine, brute force was the only way. lost some skin off my hand too :o
Mole grips and a hammer did the trick. :) |
I got them out with a screwdriver. Just got to get new seals (aarrfff aaarrrff) tomorrow afternoon.
Then try and remove the injectors from the pipes...... Plusgas here we come! Then put the thign back together. |
get new sheaths as well, only a couple of quid and new seals, injectors should slide out.;)
