power steering, any experts?
 

or at least any knowledge?

I want to mate my 92 v6 power steering pump with my 85 rack, now the odd thing is that the v6 power steering pump has an extra widget built in, and i cannot find out what it is or what it does.. the main part of the pump is a normal vane type pump and looks to be pretty similar in spec to the 85 pump (and a 1990 and 1994 golf pump) but it has an additional gallery with a cam lobe acting on a pair of plungers..

anyone know what its for?

BTW due to its location in the V I cannot fit the 85 pump.. or the golf pumps..

At last on C4 A6 was circut that adjusted sensitivity of ps. Don't know about B4.
