F disc splash shield

Gents

As per the title.
I am going to need a good pair for the front of my 1991 Coupe.
The old ones are shot and I cant find new anywhere.

Has anyone used another make or number that might fit or know of any that are available.
A quick search on here hasn't highlighted any that others are using.

Any info would be grateful.

Cheers

David

Have you tried Audi or Tradition David?

Davids 06-12-17 05:21 PM

Never even thought about Audi because of age.
Will give them a call tomorrow
Ta

Sure you can still get them David

Davids 06-12-17 05:26 PM

Thanks, will let you know tomorrow, I'm getting fed up of the screeching noise as another bit gets caught and rubs on the disc and I have to get home and pull it out.

Cheers lads

You can check the part numbers on 7zap, they vary on the different coupe's.

No10.

Left shield......8A0 615 311 B
right shield....8A0 615 312 B

Maybe Mike or John could check as they might know different.

sinbin5t 06-12-17 05:41 PM

Nice one Mark, i thought they all varied but perhaps it's just the rears.

They still might but that slide was for a 1991 coupe quattro.

Davids 06-12-17 05:43 PM

Saw that and have been doing a bit of searching under those part numbers and nothing comes up Google or anywhere.

Will try mainstealer tomorrow ta.

I think I tried TPS for these when I did my front subframe overhaul, and it was NLA ??

I really hope I'm getting mixed up with other bits I couldn't get because I too need new backplates :shake:

All very strange these splash shields.

They came with the round ones when the cars were new. These then got "upgraded" to an odd L shaped type cover. I use the term upgraded loosely as the round version is far more effective.

You can't get the round ones any more I don't think.

The numbers are 893 615 311 B / 312 B for the round ones and 8A0 615 311 B / 312 B for the L shaped ones

If you look up the 90q saloon for 1991, they list different types for each side.

I've got a pair of brand new round ones if you need copies made

What about a picture with a measuring stick alongside showing overall diameter and distance between the mounting holes and suchlike?

Well pleasantly surprised, both backing splash plates available to order from main dealer, £35.22 inc vat each.

So a trip tomorrow to order these.
I can knock most things up in most metals but at this price it isn't worth trying.

Part numbers used from 7zap and Left shield......8A0 615 311 B
right shield....8A0 615 312 B are the ones listed for me.

Never even thought about main dealer due to the cars age, Coupe 1991 2.3 20v 7a, cheers for the reminder Mark.

No problem, i got my backplates recently form the dealer too.

I wouldn't wait until tomorrow, now that everybody knows they are available i'm sure a good few orders will be placed now so get in before the stock they have left is gone!
Often when good news gets put out there the original poster can loose out to the people who quietly lurk or just greedy on the forum. I've seen it happen myself numerous times.

What are you saying about our fellow Audi owners :hand:

Ordered and paid for, the chap on the counter said they also fit a range of A4's etc

That old chestnut.

Most members are good but there's a guy/dealer on here who bleeds poverty saying can i have the part for my nephew.
You sell it cheaply as i have done to help, then your very same item appears on eBay for twice the money!
It's happened to me and a few members on here and there was a thread about it.

Glad you got them ordered.

sinbin5t 07-12-17 04:29 PM

Good result
