Which Ronal R8 do you think....
Which Ronal R8 size do you guys feel would be the most versital size to remanufacture in all three VAG PCD's ( 4x100/4x108/5x112)?
I think for the greatest range of models, spacers added to those that really wish to push the look to 8", that 7x15 et 42 on all 3 bolt patterns would be the one. As near as I can tell R8's were produced in the following sizes. 5.5x13et38/4x100PCD 6x14et45/4x100&108 PCD 6x14et35/4x100 (dished) 6x15et35/4x100 6x15et42/4x100 6x15et45/4x108 7x15et22/5x112 (dished) 7x15et28/4x100 (deep dished) 7x15et35/4x100&108/5x112 (dished) 7x15et37/4x100 (dished) 7x15et42/4x100&108/5x112 (dished) 8x15et24/4x108/5x112 (dished) 9x15et11/4x108 (dished) http://i653.photobucket.com/albums/u...q_1985_021.jpg While I'm understandingly partial to the extra deep dish of the 7x15 et 28's on my car, the offset is at the limit without flaring the fenders. http://i653.photobucket.com/albums/u...RonalR8010.jpg Thoughts? |

7 x 15 looks good to me. I personally prefer the spoke design in the first photo

15's in 4 x 100 are getting a bit like rocking horse shite! If mine were 15's I could have sold them a few times over by now! |
There was a set of 14's in 100 on ebay a week or 2 ago. looked in fairly good nick too

Interesting to see the first picture... I ran my old GT on tyre sizes right up to 225/50/15's, on 7x15's with ET25... The arches were modified but after that, anything went really... Lovely to see some 215/50/15's on 7x15's under a GT...

15x7j in 4x108 would be most sought after, 4x100 would prob sell well with correct offsets but your looking at limited number. With 4x108 and a few offsets available, your looking at VW/Peugeot/Audi and a few others being in the market..
The 5x112 i would love to see the original UR wheels recreationted in both 15x8j and 16x8j. 16's would allow a suitable brake size whilst not looking too big for the arches as 17s seem to do... |
Upgrading the diameter from 15" to 16" has crossed my mind.
I'm looking into actual recreation of an existing wheel, so ....the most equitable choice is to pick a single size and offset, then drill them out for different PCD's. Styler, nice find m8 ! |
