Blower resistor - suppliers?
Hi guys,
Needing another heater resistor for the B4, part number is 8D2 959 263 which I believe came from a cabby. Struggling to find one for sale, new or used. Bought a Febi one on ebay but its a completely different shape despite saying it fits my car :wall: Has anyone got one to sell or know where I can get a new one? Cheers |

only working on speed 4 ?
if so you can change the thermal fuse |
Hi
Yes Mike only speed 4. That would be great if it’s repairable! Steve let me know on the part number, spares are handy. Cheers Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
So I've got 2. 1 is from a cabriolet but has blown it's thermal fuse and has been bridged with wire. Part No. 8D2 959 263.
2nd is from a coupe but different first digits. 894 959 263. Fully working. Not sure if these make a difference? They look identical. |
First part code likely superseded the later part and that's about it.
Suitable resistor is likely to be found in late 80's and 90's VAG B series cars and golfs and B3/B4 passats, as B3 audi heater is derived from mk2 golf heater and thereafter they changed a little until at least late nineties - for example interior fan is the same in B3, B4 and early B5, of both brands. |
An RA17T is what you need, about 80p from marlins, although they have gone bust so you will probably find Farnell or RS components will have them
