80 cab wet floor

Hi All

I'm new to the forum and just got myself an 80 cab .
I've got water ingress on passenger side and I'm fairly sure it's coming in from the pollen filter as it was badly choked all around it and the waterway was blocked. The water diverted cover had been attached with a butyl mastic seal . It seems to of worked fine but restricted access to keep water way clean and change pollen filter . Has anyone sealed this with anything that was removable to still give access to the plenum chamber ?

Any ideas much appreciated!

Cheers

Vin

You should be able to remove the water cover to gain access to clean the crud around the pollen filter.
Just make sure you clean it all up before installing new filter and reattaching the water cover.
Worked fine me and been fine ever since.

Welcome any pics of this cabby?

Thanks for replying !
I did remove the cover and cleaned it all out. I don't know if I need to reseal it again though
With the butyl mastic .
I've read elsewhere about the seal at the bottom of the window and the cover letting water past .
What do you think ? It must of been sealed for a reason but I'd much rather not do it so it would be easier to get back in there to keep it clean

Yes reseal it again ie, just under the front screen, that is the water cover to the flitch panel with the mastic.
I was able to carefully lift mine leaving the mastic intact but did spread it around evenly before pushing back the
water cover, it must be sealed properly here. To remove again use a hair dryer to warm it up - makes for easy removal.
