Nice A6 C4 on ebay

Just spotted this on ebay, nothing to do with me but it looks very nice and original (bar ICE), low mileage 52750 and looks to be in really good condition, might be of interest to someone.

Yep spotted that yesterday. A great car that with the right wheels would be a looker, and peanuts at that price!

Someone get it bought it will go on forever!

With minimal effort someone could polish that up to within an inch of its life and take home a whole mountain of concours trophies...

That was for sale in Brighton before Christmas and had been repeatedly listed on ebay for a while. I contacted the owner and he wanted fifteen hundred for it even though it was up for more. I couldn't get down to him due to work and it sold.

It's overdue for the cambelt so there's a few hundred to factor in before you even start. I'd take it on but not at that money. If the original seller couldn't achieve any more than fifteen hundred only a matter of months ago then it's not worth any more now.

Many minty desirable looking cars offered have a cambelts overdue. Wouldn't put me of buying. The cabriolet was just overdue but had covered little mileage and the estate was well overdue by 9 years when i bought it but had only covered 60k all in. Glad of the opportunity to be honest. I'm not surprised the A6 sold, someones got an almost showroom car there with a good clean and detail and all for monkey nuts.

I agree cambelt change is a mandatory for me when I purchase a car (well all belts actually) but then I do it myself so its quite a cheap job usually unless other things come to light during the belt change :D

That's the thing, it'll put some off who would pay to have the job done......but might become a good bargaining point for those who don't have a problem with it.

As long as the belt stays intact for the drive home?!

Fitting a new belt is no guarantee of safety either though...

I've known cars lose a camshaft belt after only several thousand miles... The main issue is 'new' belts that are 'new old stock' that are 20 years old and/or have been stored badly.
