Description:Having completed the crumball grandprix and returned home a trip of around 3000 miles our trusty steed is of no further use to us and is up for sale. The car was a great motor for the banger rally and perfomed fairly well considering it was fully loaded all the time.

the car managed an average 35mpg from start to finish of the rally. we drove conservatively no higher than 3k revs between gear changes.

The not so bad bits

2 litre 8v abk engine.115 bhp when new

the car is equipped with abs and pas and thats about it

its very low spec so less to go wrong. Keep fit windows and sunroof, currently has a stereo fitted but can be removed to lower the sale price if required.

We fitted an old air horn which makes a horny sort of noise, this also can be removed to lower the price.

the car has the audi 80 sport leather steering wheel which sell well on aui forums and one went on ebay recently

5 alloys in a useable but not pretty condition the tyres are also in a useable condition with more than legal tread depths

the body work while it looks nice in the photos is brush painted ,you really need to see it in person to appriciate the melted cheese effect the runs give it. Minor dent in bonnet .front wheel arches were rusted away we bogged them up so no sharp edges .

interior is in a good clean condition considering its age.

oil and air filters changed just before rally.

had a new o/s outer cv joint also

WORSE BITS

The car would benefit from a new coil to dizzy lead as this proved a little troublesome on the last day of the rally. I fettled it and normal service was resumed

Also i would suggest that the brakes get looked at the disks feel warped .

rear wheels need balancing if being very fussy

fuel gauge reads a bit erratic

temp gauge has become a little intermitent

will be on sale for around a week if it does not go, it will be broken/scrapped the week after that.

SMALL WORLD how on earth did you stumble over this advert. if it doesnt sell i am afraind it will be broken and scrapped in the next week or two.

its now got the proper 80 sport steering wheel too

Was just looking up old car registrations on DVLA see what's still running, what's not, and then on this one noticed it said still taxed and yellow. Head scratching put the plate in google, and, well here I am. Not sure of the odds on that, but...

Really hope she doesn't have to be scrapped, always a shame.

So looks like its going to the scrap yard on saturday, would any one like any parts from it?

sport steering whell is available, alloys bit tired engine etc all oin greta working oreder. let me know friday night sat morning at the latest

car now scrapped. saved the alloys no tyres and the steering wheel.
