2019 Sorn work list
Well its almost another season done and time to put the Cq onto SORN. Not done many miles this year due to crappy weather but still got a list of jobs to sort over the 4 months its away avoiding the salty roads..:
1) Replace front strut top mounts including adding some support rings that will extend their life. 2) Replace rear strut top mounts for heavy duty versions (last changed in 1997)! 3) Oil and filter change. (despite having only done 2600miles this year). 4) sort annoying clunk/rattle from front offside wheel/suspension area.. (Not figured out what could cause it yet) 5) Remove and service the turbo and add upgraded hot side to eliminate the surge (Also help get power over 450bhp and on tests only added 200rpm to spool point). 6) Up to AutoMark for re-map.. 7) New slave cylinder Shorter list than normal but enough to keep me busy  |

Pic of the strut top mount strengthening rings that have been receiving praise on the S2 Forum and will be fitting in the next two weeks. Also got another job now as noticed the clutch reservoir was all but empty so looks like a new slave cylinder as no evidence of fluid on the drivers side floor and noticed the clutch mechanism has got very squeaky, so could mean a gearbox out job to remove fluid from inside the bell housing and re-grease mechanism and fit a new clutch release bearing which takes a hammering from the uprated clutch:rolleyes: |
Always enjoy reading Dave, keep the updates coming

Started the work this weekend, replaced passenger side strut top mount for the new version with its support rings. Made a special tool for the top nut many years ago and is one of many home made specialist tools to make maintenance on the cq a much easier and stress free affair:

Well after 3 days on and off, managed to get turbo off ready for sending away for refurb and replacing the 6AR for the 10AR housing see below, Interested to see if it has the desired affect of eliminating surge..
