Oil pressure warning '93 V6 Cabriolet

Ok guys back for some advice/help. Please.

Have been very quiet for a while but still struggling on with the occasional dally in to the Audi marque.

An ongoing problem with my ABC engined Cabriolet is the oil pressure warning coming on when the RPM goes past 2100revs. Oil pressure gauge still reads just under 5 bar , so have been living with it, more especially as it doesn't always do it. Long journey recently to get a new back windscreen fitted ( 85 miles ) the warning was there all the time with revs over 2150, but return journey, not a peep out of it.

Tried changing the oil pressure sender, ( yes i did change the correct one! ) and no difference

I had this problem way back on an 80 Sport and had to change the mini check computer on the back of the dash. Does this model car use the same principal ? I think Mikes2 came up with the answer last time, and Shaun5 supplied me with the part....so any suggestions, help appreciated.

Incidentally, superb Cabrio in panther black metallic with nice hood and .....a hard top!

What warning system does the car have ?

Mini check or autocheck ?

Hi Mike, definitely not auto check , but a small extra square shaped box above the warning lights with , on my car, 3 lamps that illuminate when ignition is switched on , brakes, coolant temperature and oil pressure. Is that a mini check or just a standard dash for an Audi 80 ? Other warning lights below.

Mini check.

Looks like this (ignore the engine mgmt)

I'll see if I have a wiring diagram for it

Yes thats the one....does it have a unit on the back of the dash like the 80 Sport had or is it just going to be a wiring issue/rear dash printed circuit problem ?

This is for an Audi 80 but everything should be the same.

It will just be a minicheck module.

Your oil pressure sender is 2.5 bar and has a grey/ white wire. It goes via a couple of connectors to pin 4 of T14 (white connector) on the rear of the instruments.

T4/h is in the engine bay on the right side (driver) - I'd check there first

Many thanks Mike, i'll give it a check over as soon as I get a chance.

Final post just to say thank you to mikes2 again, you have solved so many issues for me over these past 6 or 7 years. Final for this post as the problem has been solved by changing the mini check computer to a serviceable one.
50 Euros , but worth it not to have that flashing red oil light and warning buzzer going off at 2100rpm every time.

Cheers Mike and thanks again !
