Audi 80 2.0E 1996 Cabriolet Kingfisher Blue

104,000 miles
Long MOT

In daily use.

I will be offering my Cabriolet for sale at the beginning of September as thats when my new car arrives. I am writing the advert now to see if there is any interest as its only 2 weeks away.

The price reflects all work I have carried out on the car, I believe I have tried to price the car fairly. Will add more info and pictures at the weekend when I have given a good valet.

Work this month:-

New rear screen.
Full engine service including - spark plugs, distributor, ht leads.
Brand new exhaust.
Gearstick gaitor.
New Relay 30 (common problem)

Engine servicing and exhaust has been carried out by local reputable garages.

Recent front brake discs, pads and calipers.

Exterior
The car is very solid, no rust underneath or on the bodywork. Very slight bubbling on one arch. Few small car park dents blemishes as you would expect of a car this age. I think the bodywork is acceptable for a daily driver which is what it has been for me. Polishes up well. Standard headlights. S2 / V6 front bumper. Just fitted BBS alloys which I think look great.

Mechanicals
Lovely smooth gearbox and nicely weighted clutch. Brakes have a good feel, stops in straight line, again nicely weighted - same goes for steering. No creaks groans etc, nicely weighted. Feels good. Suspension is perfect, no noises, bangs, rattles, a good height so as not to look stupid, and not so low that it breaks your spine.

Engine
A bit hesitant until its warmed up but its a reliable unit. Its never let me down, I did have a few flats spots that have mainly been ironed out now. The exhaust has a fruity note now that it has been replaced rather than the horrible blowing noise. Will fit the new relay 30 tomorrow when it arrives and report back, that should sort the last few hiccups.

Electrics
The roof mechanism is fine, goes up and down no problem. Its a manual roof but there is still a procedure to follow. Takes about 12 secs for me to put the roof up or down. The electric windows all work, even the centre console button that does all the windows. The electric mirrors fully operational. No gremlins with the boot closing, everything works as it should, as does the central locking.
Radio does not work. Heater blower does not work (when switched to warm you can feel the heat and its enough to de-mist the screen, but the blower is not currently functioning). Hoping to fix these if I get the time. Temperature gauge on main dash does not seem to work. All other gauges work fine, including the 3 auxiliary gauges. It wouldn't be an old car without the odd quirk!

Interior
Average condition but clean. Showing signs of wear. Half leather black interior. Airbag steering wheel. Glovebox handle missing.

10 months MOT remaining.
Cheap insurance (£150 for me for the year). Acceptable road tax price. Something a bit different. I also have a brand new set of rear brake discs and pads available for £20 should the buyer want them, although they don't need doing at the moment.
