Audi B2 Coupe Gt
Several times over the last two year I have had a go at fitting larger front discs to my B2 coupe Gt and finally today I have managed it, 280mm x 22mm discs with twin piston G60 calipers and an adapter bracket to fit on to the existing mounting holes and threaded holes in adapter bracket to mount the G60 caliper bracket, the aftermarket 15" wheel that I have on the car don't have a very large internal size and I only have 4mm clearance between the wheel and the caliper, road test will come in due course after caliper rebuild and painting,
but at this time the wheels spin round and I am happy. https://i.imgur.com/CfAsyNo.jpg?1 |
Nice job and well done that man.
That should give your brakes a bit more bite! Basically the same set up the later quattro? |

Nicely done, like the thinking (and the pics).

Brakes fitted now and ready for the road, test tomorrow but to be honest the pads will need to bed in for a hundred miles or so.

Brilliant thanks for sharing the information

After some minor clearance problems Gt has been out for a test drive, I have a mk4 Golf with 280mm front discs and the best feeling brake pedal I have ever had and would be very happy to have that kind of feeling in the Gt pedal, well what a transformation in the Gt brakes, pads are not run in only marking the outer half of the brake disc on both sides and the brakes feel amazing, not got to the lock up point yet but they don't feel snatchy just progressive stopping power, I am chuffed to bit with them at the minuet.

Sounds like a good result so far Colin, and they'll only get better.
