That's a nice wee car, I am somewhat confused by the bidding!!

Big debate on pistonheads about this car, the seller also has an RS1600i Escort for sale, bidding only up to £13k on that one and I know which I think is more inline with market prices :hmmm:

Copied from Pistonheads quote in forum - The nova sport group are bidding it up, confirmed on the book of faces. Found a little more on this particular car though, the engine has never been run since it's restoration in 2001. It gets pushed around, onto trailers etc. I personally wouldn't want to spend any significant money on that because of this, who knows a rather expensive engine rebuild may be required......

........agreed, Escort is looking a better buy. Was the engine rebuilt at time of restoration and never run?......weird.

Now to me this is a much more desirable 80's Vauxhall

Wow, there's a blast from the past! Me and my mate rallyed one of these in the 90's, she was a genuine one as well, one you few built. We paid Ir£2,900 for it in '95 and raced it for 3 years. I've never had as much fun driving since! Lol. It was a little daemon, I honestly don't know how many times it tried to kill us. That 1300 engine was bulletproof, a real cracker. That's a beautiful example, I wouldn't pay anything remotely like that.
