Removing Front Hub

1 Attachment(s)
Hi Forum, I am trying to remove the front hubs from my Audi Coupe quattro (b2).

I've got the correct socket size for it, but the hub is just spinning.

How do I stop the hub and driveshafts from spinning? Should I have loosened the bolt while the brakes were on?

Attachment 11003

Thanks

You should have loosened the bolt when the wheel was still on and on the deck. Will easily crack off with a nice long extension bar.

Thank you, thought this might have been the case!

You can put 2 wheel studs in and use a wheel brace or breaker bar type object to stop it rotating while you undo the hub nut.

Saves putting the wheel back on, lowering the car etc

Buzzin, Been there done that:tup:, one thing is for sure, if you are going to work on your own car you are at some point going to f**k up, take it on the chin and accept it, it is still way better than putting it in to a garage and they f**k up and bill you for it.
