Check fuel meter in Audi 80 b2

Hello,my fuel meter doesn't move above the half (~35 litres) even when the tank is full .From half and below the meter it works.Is anyone knows where is the meter into the tank and if its possible to remove it ,to see if its stuck?

It's normally on top of the tank.
