Love it. I would love it even more, if it was Caspian Blue.

Don't know why, have never liked the XR3, I had an XR2 from new, so it's a no from me
|
Wow
Wonder what it'll get to  |
It needs some DMB plates and the correct two spoke steering wheel (being an early '82 reg 3i), but it is a lovely thing.
I had an '83 Model Year A Reg Sunburst Red one briefly, twenty odd years ago when it was nine years old. It was rotten as a pear even then, but was a quick one. Great memories. |
Its got to be 10k + all day
Maybe a bit too shiny and new looking butits alovely thing, im seriously tempted. Does the bonnet look off or is it just not shut properly? |
From a collector's point of view, it is a very early one, being an '82 reg. The Press Launch cars were reg Nov '82 (from memory).
The steering wheel is of a later '84 Model Year on car. The earliest XR3is had the same two spoke steering wheel as the XR3 very briefly, before the were fitted with the same style three spoke steering wheel as this one, but leather rimmed. Looking through the rebuild pics, it has it's original two spoke steering wheel. The bonnet looks to be not closed properly, rather than being out of alignment. It is amazing how few of these are left, when you think how common they were new. Some Press Launch stuff. http://i731.photobucket.com/albums/w...ps3w1zicp5.jpg http://i731.photobucket.com/albums/w...psjjclm8qa.jpg http://i731.photobucket.com/albums/w...psclbm3abb.jpg http://i731.photobucket.com/albums/w...psepuuoqcx.jpg http://i731.photobucket.com/albums/w...psq5yvcxib.jpg http://i731.photobucket.com/albums/w...psnrdsj3bm.jpg The Two Spoke steering wheel in an early XR3i. http://i731.photobucket.com/albums/w...ps9qzqzk2r.jpg http://i731.photobucket.com/albums/w...psqhih6m6s.jpg http://i731.photobucket.com/albums/w...psh0b2gi7i.jpg |

When I asked him "WTH did you sell it?", he basically said the same thing, "it was as rotten as a pear!". :shake: The XR3i still gets a  from me though. Quote:

I'd love a mk3i Ken , very rare beast in concourse nick though and the trim doesn't seem to wear very well at all . They are starting to rise in value now the the 16i has gone ballistic on the value front .
