UR Quattro Mk2 Dashboard into Mk1 ??
 

Hi all,

Managed to purchase a brand new black dashboard for my 1983 Audi UR Quattro to replace the cracked and worn brown one, however it appears to be a MK2 dashboard. Therefore the speakers and grills won't swap from the old into the new, but more worryingly is the cowl won't fit from the old to the new either.

If I manage to track down a replacement cowl for a MK2, does anybody know if the MK1 clocks will fit into a MK2 cowl?

Hope that makes sense and that someone with in depth knowledge of this car can shed some light.

I take it you have analogue clocks?
I think those will fit ok in a black cowl.

I don't know if the brown switch surround will fit to the black cowl though.
The black dash in the later cars changes every brown piece of plastic in the car to black with it.
I don't know if the brown centre console will fit up to the black dash.
Steering column surround I know is the same (but black) on later cars. I owned my '85 for about 10 years before I noticed that the steering column surround was brown and got myself a black one, so I know that doesn't stand out too much. Not sure about brown switches and stalks with black dash though...

I am now on the hunt for black interior switches, cowl and centre console.
I also need black speaker pods (The ones that go in the corners).
