Audi 80 B3 Auto

A very regretful sale of my Audi which is quite stunning and maintained to the highest standard.

My car that really can be called ‘timewarp’ condition.

**Original Throughout**

Audi 80 B3
Four door saloon
Beautiful Tornado Red paintwork.
1.8 Carburettor
3 Speed Automatic
Only 85K Miles
All original paint; never been machine polished so paint depth remains as it left factory.
Original Audi overmats/carpets
Fabulous interior. Showroom new and smells factory fresh.
4 x new Michelin tyres in 2016 and very little mileage since.
Full Service history.
Original factory stickers around car.
Original dealer number plates included in sale.
Has always started first time. Original factory fitted manual choke. Pulls strong and smooth. Automatic gear change is faultless and smooth. Steering unaided, nicely weighted and direct in feel.
Original cassette radio.
No sunroof (no leaks to worry about!)
Non-PAS model.
Non-ABS model.

Timing Belt replaced in 2015 and few miles done since.

New Mid and rear exhaust sep 2016
Always garaged

MOT until 11 September 2018

I am a private seller. This is my car of three years. The V5 is in my name at my address.

All exterior plastics and rubbers in excellent condition.
No rust issues – these cars were galvanised from new. A few stonechips on the bottom panel of one door. A few other stonechips here and there. One very, very slight ding on passenger wing, does not detract at all from the car.
Underside fantastic – During my ownership it has been protected with Bilt Hamber UC and SC.

Only three minor negatives that I have not been able to address due to a family death and the car being sotned:
1) Boot gas struts have gone and need replacing. Only £25 for a pair.
2) There is very slight ATF fluid drip; I have imported a new genuine metal sump pan from Audi Germany, along with 6 litres of Dexron 2 ATF fluid, a rubber sump gasket and a filter. These are all the parts required to renew the atf and resolve the leak. They are, of course, included within the sale price. The labour to do this at a garage should be £50 at most.
3) The rear number plate lights are off due to a break in the boot harness wire. They had been intermittent for a while and my local told me a while ago* that it's an easy and quick job to splice open and fix it, or if you want to keep it 100% original, a second hand harness could be purchased.againa £50 job tops

In 2015 the coolant tanks and all pipes were replaced with new, the timing belt was renewed, the brakes including cylinders were renewed and various other items in the engine bay were renewed – none of these items needed doing, it was just a case of the car being prepared to the highest standard As part of the history folder there are numerous photos of the work printed out and there are six cd with electronic copies of photographs.

I have had regular oil changes using Shell Helix 10w40, I had the tappets changed two years ago, and I purchased four Michelin tyres (which transformed the steering/handling).

A fantastic car to drive: it really looks, smells and drives like it was new in 1988. Thanks to the beautiful red paintwork it really stands out and gets lots of attention. Solid. Well built. Reliable. I believe this car would be show standard with virtually no effort

Whilst I always like to see cars maintained as standard, this could also be a good base for a Quattro recreation (people already stop me thinking it’s a Quattro, despite the absence of alloys!)

Any questions please feel free to ask.

Thanks. She is a corker and I’m gutted to be selling but finances dictate that I need to drop one of my classics. I could mothball her into the garage and thus alleviate mot and tax costs, but I’m not the type of person that can leave cars to sit - I’d be in the garage turning her over all the time which is a pressure when youve got other cars and a child!
