Private Plates

I've always been a bit unsure if I like these or not. i think "names" are a bit sad but I quite like funny or car related ones.
I'm thinking about having one on my Evo. Since I dont want to spend a lot of money (the cheapest "EVO" plate is nearly a grand!) I'm thinking of having a "BLU" plate eg "M** BLU" since it is a Lagos Blue Special Edition and its relatively cheap.
Since I sort of value your opinions (:D)What do you think of having the plate "M** BLU" on my Integrale

amanda 06-01-10 07:09 PM

john johnson 06-01-10 09:05 PM

Irish number plates... Look there

Isimmo 06-01-10 09:15 PM

Yeah, Sorry Pete, the DVLA site was more aimed at Stuart... You'll struggle to get anywhere with the 'propper' X's...

But, yes 4X's were used on some of the rally cars...

stuartmmcfc 06-01-10 09:25 PM

only joking..only joking....

be as proud of your original reg. as you are of your mileage and stretch marks!!

Audiden 07-01-10 01:23 AM

If you want a number plate, get one... they're cheap enough... but get one that means something to YOU... thats my regret with my one.

I've got a plate on my 80, originally bought for my Coupe to disguise its age. Means nothing much tbh & it was cheap, but its short & I prefer short number plates. Oddly, I've had people thinking my car is newer than it actually is, despite it being 15 years old with an 80 badge on the back. I've always driven older cars through choice, so this is a novelty for me.

I have a real dislike for contrived number plates... like N2GEL. That was a good programme & I was surprised the guy came to the conclusion that he did in the end.

5potnoodle 07-01-10 02:41 AM

My dad had a personalised number plate... he changed his name by deed poll to FFU 733D :moon:

Holy Moses, I could get my bottom end upgraded for that, well almost...
You obviously have too much spare cash! If you need a way to get rid of it I accept any amounts towards the Cq engine upgrade..:D

private plate

i bought my wife a private plate which is unique to her .H10 CTO, had it spaced (illegaly)
H1 0CTO, as she is into james bond films , even has tattoo of an octopus!!!!, the thing is the plate was dirt cheap when i bought it from dvla several yrs ago 240 pounds all in , now its worth over a grand. but wouldnt sell

4v6 07-01-10 09:59 AM

Not one for private plates myself, but the one on Quasi is worth more than the car......now all i need to do is finish it, mot it, and get the reg sold off to pay for the darn thing....:)

SteveCat 07-01-10 10:03 AM

.

Nah,love 'em

Had a few laughs with the one on a Granada I had,as I spaced the lettering on UPU 51R to read UP U 51R!!

You gotta check availability on L4GOS Stu,I know I would!

GRA 13??? Loads a money!!

Emjay 07-01-10 10:04 AM

I never appreciated just how many ways there are to spell COCK :moon:

john johnson 07-01-10 10:42 AM

i bought three that all follow on about 12 years ago for £800, the rest have come with vehicles bought, V4 NMB came on a van and was valued at about £600, one on the Ur was already on it and im sure the blue one was a private thing the first owner had as it matched his initials....got JJ on another car to....very naff but hey ho :wierdo:
Looked at buying a 'BUG' plate for her indoors beetle but they are a grand plus....mental
