Xmas... is anyone else thinking they cant be arse with it?

got as much enthusiasm this year as a pork pie selller in Mecca..
Really cant be arsed with it, commercialism and just another expense.

Yep funny time of year for some. I love Christmas generally, but Christmas day is not the best day. Have Lewis in the morning, but when he goes home at 1 o'clockish, I just spend the rest of the day thinking about how much fun he's having

Emjay 05-12-09 06:21 PM

I bloody hate this time of year tbh. Why am I forced to take two weeks off work in the middle of winter for a start?

David Small 05-12-09 06:30 PM

Depends on who you work for and company policy I suppose, my Dad always had to take two weeks of at Christmas because the mill shut down for that period. I would much rather have my holidays in the better weather, but for various reason's this year I just ain't used my holidays up so I finish on 18 December and dont go back until 4 January, because I aint gonna lose em and we can't carry them over to the next year.

winge, winge, winge and more winges.:hand:
Christmas means something for 2 lots of people- Kids and those who go to Church.
if you're not in either of those 2 camps of course its a disappointment- come to terms with it and you'll have a nice time

burry the hatchet with the Mrs and have the DAY together for Lewis, I am sure having the 2 of you together means more to him than presents then you go off at 1pm. The day is for Lewis however old he is.

Love the season, the Christmas tree, the sentiment and family gathers, but abhor the gross commercialism and the sheep herd crowds.

Christmas preparations today.......sadly took off the zippy deep dish Ronals with Yokohamas, and replaced them with 14" steelies and studded Cooper Snows.
4-6 inches of snow forcast to start now, 4pm Saturday.

Oh and a tree for the roof. :D

Isimmo 05-12-09 09:23 PM

Christmas....

Show me the exit strategy....

ZermattGT 05-12-09 09:27 PM

Just switched out the lawn mower for the snowblower, primed the gas and test started her for the morning. :nonod:

We get a cold wind (gale force) and rain, which sums up October to April... It's just the severity that changes...

Snow at Christmas would be divine...

gabriel.oconnell 05-12-09 10:34 PM

i am totally tick off with xmas everyone forgot the true meaning of xmas, and i find people around this shithole are more p...ed and more nasty then usual, so no hate this time of years, plus her in doors rather work it anyway so it just the same as any other shitty day
