shame it's sooo far away from me. Would at least be good for spares.

Superb cars and highly underrated. Shame he's taken the best bit out of it though.

ian20v 17-11-09 06:11 PM

Yep great car

Kenquattro 17-11-09 06:29 PM

Seems a shame. Ex VAG car in black. That would look the dogs with some OE BBS 16" alloys......and an engine!

BW2309 18-11-09 08:31 AM

Oooo... I have an early S8, 340hp 4.2 32v V8 engine, along with a 5-speed manual 'box.....

If I could afford the time and cash it'd be a no-brainer.....

Damn it - I WANT IT!!!!!!

quattrokid 18-11-09 02:22 PM

if anyone needs parts from it I'll collect them.

Ben come up with a trailer and pick it up. Stay with me overnight if timing dictates a rest:tup:

That sounds lovely,

If it's the 4.2 V8 diesel then it will be quicker than the original petrol version that was in it. Hmm, sounds a good project...:D

Rich you know what you said to me last night on the phone about not being quuuite so crude on the forum................:p:o:p:p:p:p:p:p

Perhaps....I could COME up to Scotland, stay BEHIND for a while after I PICK YOU UP,then we could look under the bonnet.
We may become tempted to jump in the HOLE and get DOWN and DIRTY

Is that the kind of muck you were meaning matey???

Sorry ladies,Im only meaning this in humour not to offend.
:nod::nod::nod::D:D:D:nod::nod::nod:

Lankytim 21-11-09 02:50 PM

In all seriousness, does anyone have an idea how much it would cost to buy and reinstate all the missing pieces? It could be a pretty rewarding project for someone.

I think the killer is the rear diff. These were unique to the V8 and possibly sport quattro which is why people want V8s, purely for the diff. And all they want off typ85 saloons is the front windscreen and door tops for the same reason.

Rear diff is torsen, but I don't think u can't install standard lockable diff in it's place.

quattrokid 21-11-09 03:07 PM

would a WR diff work?

I have one here doing nothing except taking up space!!

Lankytim 21-11-09 04:26 PM

Spooning...

I thought it was going to be something much more depraved!

Amar 21-11-09 05:58 PM

rich how far away from u is the car??? as i still havent bought a car yet maybe this could be a nice lil winter project for me...via ben! so does any1 have any ideas how hard it would be to source a 4.2 from s8 s6 or sumthin like that n have it installed? how much? ive always loved these n especially in black! any1 else on here own a v8??

quattrokid 21-11-09 06:12 PM

hi Amar,

firstly finding a V8 is easy....ring 07784549552 and Will should have one there or know where to find one.... IF you REALLY want a proper V8 in it.... ask Grizz if he has a donor RS6 BI TURBO V8 ENGINE:ihih::nod::lol:

Secondly,I am in Ayrshire, west Scotland and the car is in Aberdeenshire so I am at least4 hours away.

Amar 21-11-09 06:35 PM

blimey...ok never mind was thinkin if it was a stones throw away u could pop over n tek a look for us. no worries. this is gonna be a mission to get bak to the midlands for any1!

wouldnt ths be a pain in the arse n costly to get a manual fitted as this is an auto? would be nice to just keep it as a standard 4.2 v8 at tho moment atleast coz insurance wud be hard enuff for me on that let alone an rs6...would be an absolute ripping machine with a bi turbs tho:ihih:

quattrokid 21-11-09 07:03 PM

come up next Friday then it will give me something to do next Saturday...the Boss is away so I am free to play.

getting it south is easy, flatbed it:tup::ihih:

a manual conversion would be financial meltdown... keep it auto:idea::tup:

quattrokid 21-11-09 08:09 PM

Amar, you shouldalso get a V8 and box/ rear diff from All Audi in Bristol

01179494136

:D

Coxy 21-11-09 08:30 PM

Amar, if you want to check out a V8, I've got one on me drive!
It's even got an engine in it, albeit only the 3.6 but at least it goes and you can see what you're getting in to. Will be for sale soon as well as I'll be using the 90q as my daily when Alex gets her coupe.

eltee 22-11-09 01:41 PM

nice banner Coxy,

that V8 is only a couple of hours from me, i was thinking v8 diesel myself, as i get to drive some of these through work. although an expensive conversion without all the donor parts. suppose it also depends on what it fetches?

Lankytim 22-11-09 03:13 PM

I think whoever buys it should stick a perkins prima diesel engine from a sherpa in. Nice cheap engine swap.
