Yep 24 years of those dreaded nights. Lots of conbinations of darkness for me 5pm 2am, 6pm 3am and the killer 10pm 7am.

Dandan, were you up and down the A453 on the Sunday evening, weekend of the Protests at the Power Station in a C plate 80 Diesel, evening time after 7pm?

dandan 05-11-09 03:27 PM

hahaha yes that was me, always around there, originally from clifton, notts. been in derby for 4 years now so with family still in notts and the mighty pies being there, plus working at the airport am always up and down the A50, A453, A52 and i drive to birmingham airport when am at work so the A42/M42, i must go over/around J24 of M1 at least 20 odd times a week

Not quite!!

I was parked on the nearside verge in the first Volvo, staring at my ANPR screen waiting for an army of Vw Campers and converted Double Decker buses to tug and your car flashed up on the screen!...Looked like a nice one, even in the dark:tup:

Apparently my mate said you came back just afterwards but I was too busy setting up the Dark Knight on the DvD and I missed yer!!!!

dandan 05-11-09 03:46 PM

was this after the road had been re-opened? yea u was on the turn off for thrumpton/kingston? i was off to my sisters, or if you was one blocking the a453 at j24 the night before, i was off to work going round j24

SteveT63 05-11-09 05:39 PM

Aye, there both nights, twas a struggle, batteries went on the DvD after six hours, but we toiled on and kept the kettles boiling in the Shires we did!!!:lol:

Me! and I am getting fed up with it. Luckilly the missus works the same, as do a lot of my mates, but it is definitely starting to affect my health! Good old 'days' beckons in the new year, me thinks.

Nigel Conniford 05-11-09 06:16 PM

The first 15 years of nights are the worst

dandan 05-11-09 06:27 PM

Totally agree, there dosn't seem to be as many twats on the roads which makes my life soooooooooo much easier, mind you the cows are of a pain in the dark

dandan 05-11-09 07:36 PM

never a cow once had a deer run along the embankment for some distance aswell, slowed down to watch it also didnt want it running out infront of me, like my mate who had the pleasure of meeting one at 50mph in a renualt 19!!!! yea no twats on road, and no bosses in the warehouses

gabriel.oconnell 05-11-09 07:45 PM

Fraid so, 12 hours a night, and i wish I got £13.78 for the bastards :(

I did nights for Tesco for a bit, money was nice, but the managers were all C.....s. I had to stop doing it because I knew I was about to knock one of em out.

DO NOT DO IT!!!!

At least pop over there for a test drive, and be PUT OFF FOR LIFE. It is only J24 Kegworth.

I tried a 1700 diesel, and that put me right off.

1600 turbo diesel - I had one for 2 years for my works van and it was great.

1600 n/a diesel will not pull the skin off a rice pudding and is unsafe. You will slow down to 50/60 going up mild motorway inclines and get overtaken by HGVs..........

gabriel.oconnell 06-11-09 03:12 PM

hi yeti like you i used to work for a,,a you know and yes after i had a major accident and 3 operations and now bullied out of my job m8
