Coxy 04-10-09 08:37 PM

very similar colour to Gelbus.

WTF!!!!

Yey! At long long last Coxy.It was only a matter of a very long time.

This IS another Gelbus!

This is one of the 3 left on the road in the UK.

Theres the one in Newton Abbott, another 2.6,this 2.0 in Kidderminster (which I knew about from that large build mixed race chap I saw leaving the BC yest in a silver A4,who did have an Aquamarine Coupe 16v till recently),and mine!

This is the colour Gelb looked when I first picked her up.This is what 15 years of sun does to the Lime!

Buy it.Do it now!

Coxy 05-10-09 04:29 PM

the car isn't for me don't worry! Although I've always been partial to the pearl Inka Orange coupes.

Coxy 06-10-09 06:29 AM

looks very nice, has the cream half leather which is a good plus, can't see the mileage or whether it's a 16v or not, but will make a phone call on their behalf later

general consensus now is that it must be the V6 not the 2.0 16v.

Not much power difference at the end of the day.
# 2.0 E 16v - 103 kW (140 PS; 138 bhp), 16-valve, in-line four-cylinder
# 2.6 E - 110 kW (150 PS; 148 bhp), V6
# 2.8 E - 128 kW (174 PS; 172 bhp), V6

How many 2.8 V6 coupes were made? Very few at a guess?

Kenquattro 06-10-09 03:32 PM

The vast majority of 2.8 Coupes were the quattro version. The 2.8 fwd was only available for a very short time, before being effectively superseeded by the 2.6 making it very rare indeed. Available on J plate and the odd K pate.

Coxy 06-10-09 03:37 PM

do you know how many 2.8's were sold in the UK?

Pray tell your knowledge is more than just 90 sports and you have the answers to this one as well please!!!:D

Kenquattro 06-10-09 03:44 PM

I don't know an exact figureof how many fwd 2.8s, but would be pretty confident it is less than than the 92 90q Sport 20Vs. I have only ever come across literally 3 or 4 since they came out. Most people probably aren't even aware they were ever available. The 2.8 quattro Coupe itself is quite a rare model. The 2.6 is common enough in comparison. It was a similar situation with the B4 80 2.8 fwd, although they were far more popular and the 2.6 replaced both fwd and quattro versions. I can't recall the last time I seen a 2.8 fwd Coupe for sale or otherwise. More chance of finding an honest MP.

there was one for sale at Dubfreeze (Bingley Hall, Stafford) this year. Chap wanted £1800 for it. It was a 2.8 quattro.

Kenquattro 06-10-09 04:05 PM

You do see the odd 2.8 quattro coupe for sale, but the 2.8 fwd is very rarely available for sale.

Wise words Kenneth my man.

There is a red one on a K floating about on the web at the moment.

Needs a good clean and the miles are over 100k but could be interesting to someone, said Steve, going rrrrrrrrrright off topic as usual!

darreno'd' 06-10-09 10:27 PM

I know a chap with a 2.8 v6 fwd in grey, it's done north of 200,000 miles still looks great and the engine is a quiet as a lamb.

Coxy 17-10-09 07:55 AM

still looking. Only seen one so far that ticks nearly all the boxes but that's for sale by a dealer at £3495, so that ain't ever gonna happen.

Coxy 17-10-09 02:24 PM

oooh, found a 2.6 V6 in Inca pearl orange! :D:D:D

Just gotta get him to answer his phone!!

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.d...m=260492362266

look at pic 7.
Have spoke to the seller, but not sure it's the car for me.

158k, resprayed/colour coded bumpers and strips and a bit of rust on the front arches.

Does have black leather interior and it is the 2.6 V6.
It's the same one on the last post of that thread on Tyresmoke.

Mileage is 113k, Ragusa Green MOT May 2010 SORN'd for a couple of months now and I'm starting to feel bad about leaving it in the garage.

I've have it for the better part of 7 years.
Some of the bits I've replaced:-
Clutch
Heater matrix
Door/boot seals
Exhaust
Powerflex bushes
Starter motor.

Issues???..none really.
The body work is good for its age, but not perfect. The odd light scratch here and there. One of the sills has a crease on the bottom but this can be sorted, just never bothered.
The carpet is stained in the rear foot well when the Matrix went but the mats cover this.

In the pic it has the 17" boleros, but the standard 15's are on there at the moment with excellent matching tyres. 17's will go with the car for asking price.
The interior has the standard quattro cloth finish.
Located in Somerset.

£1900ono - would like it to go to a good home
Will email as many pics as you require. Any q's just ask.

Anyone?
