Quad bikes - whats the deal??
Seen plenty of these out on the road of late, basically driven rather irresponsibly by people not dressed in any kind of safety gear, sometimes not even a helmet.
What is the law around them? I was tootling down the M54 on my way home tonight (and it was tootling cos I was driving a Transit tipper - proper pikey style!!), and I get overtaken by some idiot who's probably doing around 90mph on a quad, wear a pair of Jeans, some chavvy top which was open and blowing everywhere and a helmet. |
yuz getting old fella
was yer driving the tipper with the ruski hat on and a tab end in, proper pikey stylee |

Have to say, you get a certain kind of look when driving one and that's "hey up, we're about to get robbed!" |
either that or your flytipping
|
might go and get me a horn tomorrow and drive round the estates and see how much tat I can amass!

Chav clothes and no helmet an absolute requirement of riding a quad on the road. Stop them all the time just to see if I get the same reaction!!!.... Why you no wear helmet?.........The response is always
"HA! DONT YOU KNOW MATE?...DONT HAVE TO WEAR ONE!!!!" "MMMmmm....indeed you dont, it was just that I was wondering what your head was made of cos it will still will pop like an egg, just like if you were riding a real motorbike when you get knocked off"!!......Oh and unless your white socks and trainoz are Kevlar lined, your ankles might smart a bit when they snap as you land....... Still....Im certain that you can get Jeremy Kyle on hospital TV so you will be fine mate"!!! .............Tumbleweed follows as the cogs turn....then....... ....HARRR!!!....Is that T5 MAYTE?....Chipped up innit ??:sleep::sleep: |

Quad bikes - whats the deal??
A bum one.... Ask Rick Mayall... |
I ride a quad every day,its the only way to get around on this rambling country estate i work on.I dont wear a helmet, and i do have to be careful,i know of a few people who have been crushed by the quad after it bounced in an incident and ended up on top of them, sliding on wet slopes is another way to get into trouble.Just got to be aware.
|
Ian....On a serious note, why dont you wear a helmet?.........
|
I love bikes, but quads !, i dont get it either, they dont handle, dont go, dont stop can't filter in traffic and you still get wet....wassapoint..
|
I dont wear a helmet as i'm mostly off road here in sticksville, and are constantly off and on bike checking trees ,wildlife as part of my work,i've never seen any farmers wearing them either,on the public road with all the traffic would be a different matter.

he'll be fine with THAT hat... you know, one of those Russian soldier's Siberian bit of kit. All is missing is the red star above the eyes:finger:
http://i88.photobucket.com/albums/k1...v/DSC00766.jpg :cool: hat matey:moon::moon::lol: |
I do imagine they would be a bit restrictive in your line of work. I have a friend who wears his Horse riding hat when he is out and about off road working on his land. Glad to hear it would be different for you on the road though:tup:...Ive been to so many incidents over the years where the use of a helmet has saved me, having to wear my white hat and take a deep breath before knocking on a wifes door to give them the bad news.
It amazes me still, how riders on the road seem to have a sense of immortality just because they have another two wheels in contact with the ground and their justification is always the same...That the law says they dont have to wear one, so they dont!...Crazy!!:nonod: Even our local Mofo wears his Viking horned tin hat when the pops down to Tesco on this VW trike!!....Mind you, he has also got a six foot long Kill Bill style sword, nylon tied to the back of it as well, with the shrunken skull of his last victim impaled through its eye socket.....but thats another area of legislation!!!!!..........Mmmmmm???...Mascot likely to cause injury????....:lol::lol: |
Dont have a problem with them being used responsibly, but as of late theres one particular dicksplash in this area is using one with an absolutely earsplitting exhaust on it.
You really can hear this cocksocket coming and going a mile away. And he drives it like he stole it, jeans, t shirt, no lid.......so i do hope he hurts himself badly before he manages to hurt someone else, what a dildo. |
