Porsche style wheels in 4x108?

Do they exist?

Wondered what Porsche alloys would look like on my cq? Can they be found in 4x108? or perhaps some recreations?

I was thinking something on the lines of these?

:arf: What do u think?

to be honest Gaz... these wheels are far too modern for the age of car you want to put them on, even IF you could get wheels to fit, it wouldnt "look right"
sorry just my opinion

u maybe right.. i think a photo shop would be a good idea perhaps. :)

i was also thinking about the ones that don't have quite such an angle to the spokes. if u know what i mean. :)

But as for being 'modern', the 911 isn't exactly a 'modern' car in terms of design.. Its still pretty much a lower, longer, flatter, sleeker... BEETLE.! :D ;) lol

perhaps?

Or maybe?

tough call with modern rims on the CQ. Some work, some don't.

You'd need adaptors to run Porsche pattern rims in the CQ which will cost you anywhere up to another £200, or you could get yours hubs redrilled, but that kinda weakens the hubs somewhat.
Porka pattern is 5 x 130.

Emjay 08-04-09 08:18 AM

they are simply too Porsche and too modern for me.

Personally I would look for a good period alloy from ATS, Borbet, Ronal, BBS. I'm sure there are more makes to add.

Have a search on ebay and see what comes up.

The non-turbo 924 was the only Porsche that ran 4x108 wheels, and there were two styles available - the 14" eight spokes as fitted to Coxy's Coupe, and also a 15" BBS style cross-spoke design.

Nigel Conniford 08-04-09 11:24 AM

Gaz, not that I know much as I sold a quattro for some jap tin

But

You would need a good slapping if you put those on a coupe :wierdo:

Yep, right on.

To me 15" Ronal R8 is perfect. BBS have plenty of styles that look good too.

86audicoupe 08-04-09 02:22 PM

I like the wheels but you'll have trouble as they're all five stud as far as I know! Why don't you go for some polished BBSs or something similar? They'd look very smart and typical of the era rather than modern Porsche wheels!

I'm really at a loss as to what wheels to get. :(

I'm quite digging the look of this tho!

I think we will have to get the wheel police to pop round and knock a bit of sense into your young brain Gaz :hand::hand:

Too big. You'll turn her into just another chavved up motor fitting something that size. If it's any consolation I have been looking for at least 6 months.

This is mine with a set of 15" and a 40mm lowered suspension. Don't particularly like the rims but the size and the drop are well proportioned.

Also take a look at Mickey's 100 when Coxy had it. This is fitted with 14" (yes 14") Melbers. Looks the dogs so big isn't awlways best.

Now THIS is a wheel

15" RH Classic with a deep dish. Very expensive and I believe they are quite hard to get hold of too. But they are just the best wheels I have seen in all my days of searching

oooooof. love 'em!

what pcd do they come in?

ZermattGT 08-04-09 08:43 PM

From Emjays original link I read those as 4x100. Aren't they gorgeous. RH doesn't make them anymore as far as I can tell.

Emjay 08-04-09 08:46 PM

Definatley 4 x 100. They are my dream wheel so if ever you come across a set let me know

ZermattGT 08-04-09 08:47 PM

Gaz, the Youtube link, that Coupe is very sweet. The two tone effect looks very cool, but the film is so dark I can't get any detail. They seem lake a late 80's 5 -spoke star pattern with a small polished lip. Maybe early Speedlines?

More info needed, could be good.

ZermattGT 08-04-09 08:47 PM

Did the set you saw sell Emjay?

Emjay 08-04-09 08:49 PM

Yes, they were an ATS recreation but with the spigot being ever so slightly small and the condition I passed. Guy wanted £275 and he declined 3 offers of £250 which begs the question why use the make me an offer function on ebay.

funny how 2 individuals can see 2 different things. Your right about the quality of the video it was very dark. So in the gloom I thought I saw something like a 17" wheel. The tyres looked like rubber bands. Definately saw a lip but thought there were more than five spokes.

SteveCat 08-04-09 09:10 PM

.

I think go for Porsche 968 or Cup Style rims.I like the idea of combining the Pork rind rimmage with the CQ.

you could always step outside the box a bit...

....ok, we are talking, out the box and into the next county now...

But, a set of these
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/4-LUG...Q5fAccessories

then a set of these! (and they're in Shropshire!)

or just type in 5 x 114.3 into eBay and you get a whole new range to look at!

Even Foose do some for 5 x 114.3

Definitely needs to be something more on the angular side. While I love the Porsche Cup wheels on a Porsche or RS2, the Type 85 shape is just too square for their '90s roundness IMHO.

Something with a lip looks brilliant too. I really like the 6x15 Ronal R8s on mine, but the 7" wide version with a lip (as on 20vcqdriver's car) looks even better.

ZermattGT 09-04-09 10:15 AM

Now that I look at the second Youtube link, I 'm not sure what the wheels are, maybe an old style ATS 12 spoke which looks alot like the deep dish R8's with a lug center cap. Maybe he changed them between vids.

I wish the resolution was better.

u might be on to something there! :)

And i may just have stumbled on the perfect wheel... they are 195/50 16". & I'm really hoping they will fit! but i haven't seen them yet, or got any more details of ET offset... so watch this space .
