Audi 90 2.3 20v 7a quattro

Hello

So finally i have gotten what I wanted. But it just needs few issues sorting out.

I am after an s2 look bumper? Preferably cheaper the better 🤣

Looking for sportier front grill.

Advice on what little things can be done, just to get a few extra bhp.

Also clutch pedal started to stick half way? It seem to engage fine. And is drivable just doesnt fully come back?

The engine has had timing belt and waterpump recently changed. I dont really know much about these engines, what things I should just replace for peace of mind. As I want to be using it as a dialy driver.

Thanks

I do have a bumper. I will send you a message

great cars and more than capable of being used as a daily. My 20v is my main car and I've had it for ages and it's clocked up silly miles now.

for the clutch, I'd recommend bleeding the system.

They're generally very solid and if you keep on top of oil changes and the basics they'll run for as long as you want them to.

I replace spark plugs every 20k. Rotor arm and distributor cap get done every 50k. I always replace all 3 belts at the same time (50k / 5 years) so so if your timing belt is already done, I'd consider the alternator and power steering drive belts.

Thanks for the advice. I orderd some parts I already needed, so hopefully will be on the road soon. I have never had a 20v engine, in coupe I used to have it was a 10v NG, whats the avarage MPG?

Bumper will need modifying to fit because the S2 has wider wheel arches than a 90.

I used to have a b3 coupe (same front as 90) well at least it looked the same, and it was astraight fit.

for mpg, it depends on driving style.

I've seen as much as 490 miles from a tank which was around 38 mpg. With E10 now, I'm typically seeing about 420-440 which is 32 ish.

I spend most of my journeys on motorways and dual carriageways and they're usually 40 miles or more so have always seen good mpg.

Does your car have the red interior by chance ?

b3 coupe has b4 wings, the wheel arch is more pronouced than on a b3 90.

:hmmm:Err, should that not be B4 coupe has B3 coupe wings not the other way round, B3 coupe wings were always different as B3 coupes were fitted with 15 inch wheels with 60 profile tires on introduction in 1988, B3 saloons on intro in 1986 had 14 inch wheels or optional 15 (standard on 20v with 50 profile tires) B4 saloons needed modified wings as they came with the 15 inch wheels on introduction.

Defo 3 types of wing on B3/4 UK supplied cars not including different markets where some came with no side repeters.

Engine wise, is yours the early 7A with the bag of snakes exhaust or the later one with cast manifold?
If its the later car the bag of snakes exhaust is more efficient and can give upto an extra 7bhp depending on engine condition. There are only two main issues with the 7A.
1) Distributer gear was plastic in a lot of cases. So good idea to check and if necessary replace it for the brass version before it breaks.
2) Injectors are a poor Hitachi design single point injector. Fitting the Bosch upgraded multipoint injectors improves efficiency and therefore mpg and can give upto an extra 10bhp.

There are other upgrades but it starts to get expensive. And change oil every 8-10K. Oh and should use super unleaded in it for best results, especially since the new E10 came out..
