Preston, Fylde and Wyre Fish and Chip Cruise 26/03/17

As the forum is on a bit of a high at the moment I'd like to use that momentum to suggest two alternatives for an Northern Engand early season meet in the new year. :D

Firstly a meet up and club display at springdubs which takes place at Harrogate on Sunday 7th March http://www.springdub.co.uk

Or alternatively a Fylde area (Blackpool) 'fish and chip' cruise on Sunday 26th March

Which one would you prefer? :hmmm:

If springdubs comes out on top the Fylde cruise will take place in late September

What with the above, a second 3 counties drive, hopefully the forum 10th anniversary meet on 9th July and possibly VWNW 5th August, not to mention Dave and Sally's noggin n' natters, there's a lot to look forward to CA wise in 2017 for us northern monkeys.

Southern softies most welcome

Hello all, just been reading all the chat about the meeting! By the sound of it, a lot of you know each other already. I can assure you non of you will know me :shake: If there is room for a "newbie" I would love to join up with you! Im down in the midlands but Blackpool is an easy run, got some friends there ( free b and b if we need it) :) I may have to bring the Mrs , then again it is her car. Would her bright yellow 2.6 v6 80 cabrio be welcome? If any of you know flying frank, he can give us a reference :lol::lol::lol: I"ll keep my eyes on the arrangements and hopefully see you all soon!!

Of course your welcome along, as is the Baroness Richthofen

The actual drive time will probably only be about 90 mins or so but with a chance for a good natter at the meet point before we set off, a couple of photo stops en route and of course the chippy lunch it will make for a great CA afternoon out. Looking forward to it

Word of warning though I've just realised that Sunday 26 March is Mother's Day, hope that won't prevent anyone from coming. All Mums welcome!
Clocks go forward the night before though so an extra hour of daylight for those travelling a distance home

:D

Preston, Fylde and Wyre Fish and Chip run 26/03/17

Ok guys here are the details.
The plan is to meet at the Tickled Trout service area which is just off J.31, M6 on the A59 Preston (PR5 0UJ) 10.30am onwards for an 11.30 roll.
Having taken in the delights of Preston :shake: we will make our way towards Blackpool on the A584 for a photo stop at Stanner Bank car park, Fairhaven Lake on the seafront at Lytham (FY8 1BD) and, for those that fancy it, a visit to the Fylde Spitfire memorial which is a very short walk away.
Once back on the road we will take in Blackpool Promenade through to Red Bank Road, Bispham, the traditional end of the illuminations (FY2 9YH) Parking on Sainsburys car park you can take your pick of the several chippys on Red Bank Road, your choice of eat in or take away.
After the late lunch a short drive to Rossall Point car park, Fleetwood (FY7 8PG) for another photo stop then a cruise through the Wyre district back to the Preston area for a finish at The Phantom Winger Pub, Broughton which is just off J.1 M55 for J.32 M6 (PR3 5JE)
As per the last 3 counties run I will provide everyone with a detailed printed sheet on the day
No real opportunities for a blast unfortunately just a good excuse to blow a few cobwebs away and have a get together
I think I've covered everything but any questions don't hesitate to ask me
Looking forward to it

sinbin5t 13-02-17 01:08 PM

Did you not try a bag of chips from each chippy Carl  must admit you would have been a bit full :hand:
The Middle Chippy is not always open, sometimes the top chippies have odd times too regardless of what opening times say, but Seniors Chippy in the village (down Red Bank road, straight on at the roundabout, and at the end of the row of shops on the left) opens at 4pm, they do good fish and chips too :ihih: sadly the car park there is not big and more often than not busy.

No parking behind Minty, well not unless you want to rent a garage or make a delivery to the shops
Wonder if you are thinking of the Newton Drive Seniors, not near Bispham village that one though.
