Audi S6 estate.

Asking top money needs to see sunroof fixed, luggage cover sourced and presented impeccably.
If it hasn't had extensive suspension rebuild recently i'm finding it hard to justify this price??!
Speculator? :hmmm:

No offence to my brothers in arms up in Scotland, but with the much harsher weather and Winters you guys get up there, I wonder how the under-pinnings of the car are fairing? My Subi had 3 years up in the Glasgow area and it didn't do it any favours I'm sure. I appreciate that Audi galvanising is probably a whole load better than Subaru ( if indeed they bother with such things ) but cars that have done 100,000 miles up in the wild North will certainly have some wear issues I'd imagine, despite having a good service record.
Must be in a hurry to sell to have to rush out in such inclement weather to dash of a few pictures....

Agreed, the buying philosophy was always You do not view or buy a motor in the dark so what's the point of photographing in the dark

I presume you are taking the pi** as over 90,000 miles of the cars life was presumably spent around Stirling and Newcastle judging by the service records....or perhaps it was just taken to those places for servicing from Blackpool as the owner got a better deal there.

....and yes i do know that NCL is not in Scotland.....

Of course I was, just a bit of CA banter Frank

Although on any given weekend it does seem like The Scots have invaded Blackpool

GraleSi 27-11-15 08:53 PM

Haha
Knew it wouldn't take long for my S6 to feature on classic Audi!
I take all your criticism seriously as it's very helpful on how a buyer would see my ad. So the S6 is booked in for a cambelt next week, a new motor is on it's way for the sunroof as it packed in a few months ago and the load cover has hopefully been sourced.
As for the pics yes it's a poor show but I'm never actually at home in the light during the week to take pics so this was after collection from the mot before it went back undercover into the garage. I will add better pics this weekend when I can take it out in the light. By the way I'm not asking anyone to view in the dark the sun does shine sometimes in blackpool haha. Viewings by the way are always welcome.
As for the suspension it had new shocks in 2008 and according to the mot history has had various suspension parts changed over the years.

I own several 90s cars and am selling a few to fund a more exotic car.
I have for sale also a 2 wheel drive Audi 100 turbo avant....
I own a vw golf G60 edition blue, lancia integrale, classic impreza, 205 mi16, 309 mi16. Most are kept undercover.

Sceptical with price??? That's on whether it sells or not but I am open to offers.....not quite as sceptical as the blue saloon.....

Any more advice welcomed

Many thanks

Unless your very nice Avant is bought by a lottery winner, you've no chance of getting your asking price, I'm afraid and I'm sure we'd all agree on that. I'm not being mean, but realistic. I bought my S6 recently with a full Audi Service History and only 82,000 miles on it for a lot less..

http://i18.photobucket.com/albums/b1...skzwuokfi.jpeg

And as for that blue Nogaro saloon's asking price - he is just wasting everyone's time . .

GraleSi 03-12-15 04:13 PM

Nice car Geneandbolly you were obviously in the right place at the right time.
I'm not after a lottery winner the S6 is open to offers! Its hard to know how to fairly price the S6 manual avant when i see no others for sale.
Its a nice car it just needs a new home from someone who has more time for her.

geneandbolly 03-12-15 04:54 PM

Thanks. I had to chase the car and paid the previous owner's asking price for it, but it's a rare car and with the low mileage, two owners and history it was well worth going after.

Your car is a belter and I'd say that if you advertised it around the £3000-£3500 mark, then you'd find a buyer.

Anyone disagree?

An Ebay auction with a start price of 99p will show what it's worth, although it's the wrong time of year to be selling with christmas coming up.

vorsprung durch technik 03-12-15 07:58 PM

Big man from the west coast bagged himself a rare beauty and worth every penny in my opinion, oouur wriiight ... ... Sir! :ihih: I would say standard S6's with Climate and leather with no rust with average miles and a good history are worth £3k and more depending on what options it might have. Goodies from the factory Options list make any S6 more desirable and sought after. Electric seats,Cruise,Skooshers ;) etc adds to it's value.

Problem with pretty much all these cars that turn up is they are very tired in the suspension department necessitating immediate work which is not cheap and the reason why many owners pass them on.Its very rare to see an S6 with receipts or documented evidence of full suspension/ steering rebuilds that cost minimum of £2k plus for parts alone! So A car that drives and rides like a new one would easily be worth £5.5k, in my opinion atm.Macboings Stunner with 50k miles would be worth more and the price it sold at a year or so ago was cheap! It's shocking how prices have gone up during the last 2 years, even just the last 12 months.

They are brilliant cars if they are in very fine fettle!

Or add to your advert on eBay, "best offer "option.

Of course you'll get some ridiculous offers, but also some from people who might consider the car if it were priced a little lower, and once you are in 2 way contact, you can at least have a little haggle. Nothing ventured, nothing gained.

geneandbolly 04-12-15 07:50 AM

You never know - maybe the AM Cars Noggy Blue buyer will offer you ten grand for it!!

Stick it on the S2 forum as well - they are pretty mental about anything 20vt..

geneandbolly 04-12-15 10:16 PM

I take back what I said about your asking price - it's an absolute bargain in comparison to this one!! Even the Noggly Blue one is cheap in comparison!!!

Did this car sell in the end?

GraleSi 19-02-16 12:09 PM

Hi there

No it didn't nor did it get any viewings so ive stuck it back in storage until May when hopefully the weather picks up a bit. It will then be put back up for sale again and i can use it a little while i'm waiting to see if ther is any interest.

Still have an Audi 100 Turbo Avant for sale one of only two left on the road.

Many Thanks

Back on again.Pricing hhhmmmm  The Auto Noggy blue avant sold for £3,500 on eBay auction recently and if the battered body albeit with a nice interior of the Kreg 80 2.8 quattro Saloon is worth what he wants £2k whats this far more enjoyable/capable manual S6 Avant worth? Pricing doesn't look so silly now that the cam belt has been done. What's it worth fellas?

geneandbolly 04-04-16 08:24 PM

£3000-£3500 tops in my book, Mark . . .

:hmmm:

vorsprung durch technik 04-04-16 08:56 PM

Craig what would you say yours is worth now?

missfire 04-04-16 11:09 PM

Standard price for these four years ago when I was on here every day was £900. The vampires used to buy them just for the engine and scrap the rest. You could get an MB for five grand not long ago. So everything is subjective. Cars are worth what people will pay for them. And if they're paying £3.5 K for a 2.8cq with 150k on it why not try £2k for one with a boot and 125k?:ihih::D Doors and bumpers are cheap.

I'd like to be able to pay five grand for this with ultra low mileage, but with most of these old things approaching moon miles/being broken the price becomes dictated by availability, and investment prospects, not what they cost four years ago.

.

geneandbolly 05-04-16 04:48 AM

Given the low mileage, condition and history, I would pitch it around £4000, Mark. A lot is to do with who's out there at the time and desperately seeking that big purple helmet to make their life complete!

Remember last year and all the excitement of me getting my saloon and you so shortly after getting your new one? Well as i know what you paid and what you have put into this car since buying i think you underestimate worth.Prices have risen without people addressing little issues. Prices are going crazy on quattros even in the last 12 months.Hence why i suggested to you getting one quickly last year! I'd say yours is worth £4.5 - £5k now.I bet that whole front respray you had recently didn't come in cheap?

geneandbolly 05-04-16 08:39 PM

It's the old story - it all depends who's out there with the bag of money and looking for your car. The S6 certainly looks a whole lot nicer now that all those stone chips are gone and that the driver's door lower seal has been replaced.

I'm in the process of having a set of headlamp skooshers fitted, as in my opinion this car should never have been ordered without them..

http://i18.photobucket.com/albums/b1...ps6pobjolc.jpg

Just as fast with them!

Just looking at your pic Craig. Can i see 2 holes where the scooshers will be going or is that photoshopped?

Agreed,i think the car looks naked without them! Mine will be getting skoooooshers to already in the bag just need fitting.

geneandbolly 05-04-16 10:16 PM

I got the complete kit from Spink, including the punched headlamp panels that you see in the photo. It's some amount of stuff but once in place, I'll have the ultimate S6. In my opinion, of course!

They do look properly good :ihih: Need to get one of the arms for mine, and I'll have skoooshers again

Tun 06-04-16 10:19 AM

Kit was showing me the tape he used to cover the holes left in his bumper when he removed his skooshers to save weight and free some space up under the bonnet. It's all about your priorities
