tis true am very contagious.......
|
the sony ericson is better than the iphone or blackberry
|
i'm looking at an iPhone next having owned almost every phone available.... What do you need from the phone John? iPhone has alot built into it although the camera isnt amazing quality... if its for general communication and phone taking then look at the samsung Tocco and/or Pixxon. the pixxon is an 8megapixel camera phone touchscreen and has the usual benefits.
|
i need it for emailing on the move for work, browsing the net and a half decent camera. Mates have i phones and blackberrys and i have used both but find the blackberry a little tedious at times. The blackberry storm is a bit wierd with its push screen

I work for Nokia (for my sins). We have recently released the Nokia E71. I have been using this for about 6 months and love it. Far superior to an Iphone or RIM (Blackberry) product.
Look here for details: http://www.nokia.co.uk/link?cid=PLAIN_TEXT_1071335 I might even have a spare one of these at work......Or maybe even a spare E90......? |
i had noticed the Nokia E71 and fancied that one as im used to nokia's
Its not on my current provider as yet so if you want to part with it pm me! the blackberry is a pain and all my mates with i phones just use it for looking at certain educational websites.......:shake: |
Ive always had Nokias, I loved 'em, until my N95 - it was no where near as good or reliable as they used to be and the N96 that followed wasn't much better. Don't know what the new one's like but I have had 2 iPhones since and they're great! Emails, calls, the way it displays texts as a conversation etc is brilliant. Very user freindly and now they are getting older there's loads of Applications to add either from 3rd party systems or even through iTunes. I have one that is a dynometer! It needs lots of information about your car but is accurate and gives accelaration, power etc! How handy! I also have an app that shows a GPS based speedo and even turns into a HUD (head up display) when you put it under your windscreen! The Maps/navigation function is great and very fast too, my Nokia's always took AGES if at all to recieve a satalite lock. The iPhone gets your position very accurately in seconds! There's app's to sort the issues that people complain about, like there being no video recoder on it. I have one on mine now (for free!). Also, the iPod function is so easy to use, music quality better than other phones and it keeps my kids occupied for hours on journeys watching films on it! I'd recommend one to anyone, but only if you'd make good use of it's functions and search for applications that help you. The other thing is that as I get bored with phones very quickly, you can change what's on it in terms of functionality and so it keeps you intereted!

I did have an E90 but it was a little big for my needs, brilliant for someone work based needing constant communication though. The E71 looks a nice sleek unit. |
I agree, some of Nokia's recent products have been rushed out in order to hit the market at the time the marketing bods tell us. This means tricky HW and dodgey SW.
The E71 is the first phone for a long time that has got a WOW out of me. Remember that i have been working in the mobile industry for over 12 years so a WOW from me is somthing...... The keys are a little small, so if you have sausage fingers then you might struggle...... |
Glad to hear the Nokias are being sorted - I always swore by them and had nothing but for years. I was gutted when the N95 was not as good as hoped. Bet your job is interesting and bet you get handsets early to test?!?! Jammy sod!

I have had Sony ericson, but mainly Nokia, just moved from N95 to Iphone, fantastic piece of kit, no regrets, camera is not as good as Nokia but still pretty good, Pay as you go £359 including 1 years free web access inc WiFi, software to view traffic reports, web cams on the move cost 59p, lots of good software

one of the mates has given me one of his spare blackberrys ( 8310 IIRC) to see how i get on with it, typing is cool but i hate the menu of the phone and he has a blackberry storm which he says is pants too........looks like a pie phone or a look at the E71 then

Currently have 6200 claccis (I think) which is the same OS in a "normal" case. Next phone WILL be E71 - I saw it in the Three shop and it meets all my needs. Email is good on it too. Steve |
Blackberry Bold, had for last 6 months never missed a beat. Web browsing really good as you get the full website not some mobile phone squashed version. E-mail refresh every 5 mins. Only downside you need to charge every day if you recieve a load of e-mails.
