Some nice cars there , thanks for sharing ;)

Thanks for posting Darron.Although the weather wasnt the best,we had the most UR's for a decade at the Tatton show on the Sunday.13 cars on display all looking fantastic with two newbies on the stand.Hedley (HMG) off here with his spotless 1987 Alpine White wr and Matt Ridge with a very tidy 1988 Tornado Red mb.
The show is a favourite of mine which is held twice a year in May and August with 2000 cars on display and hopefully a good number of UR's for many years to come.

Phil Jameson 19-08-14 11:26 PM

A special thank you must go to all who took the time to bring their cars from near and far.Hedley travelled an astonishing 2 miles to join us and JJ and Scott came across the pennines from Sheffield, but with a round trip of aroud 500 miles a massive thank you goes to Mark Hanman who came all the way from Poole.

Dave Orrell's newly refurbished 1987 Nautic Blue WR made only its second outing since completion which looked stunning with its freshly painted bodywork with immaculate and correct Zermatt Silver wheels.A true rare colour especially on a WR.

The 90 looks amazing ken , it looks fully loaded too ?, was he a local guy ?

I had a good talk to the owner about it. Sadly it is not for sale, although he now has my contact details for when it is. :ihih:
It has had quite a few mods done to it. Later dash and doorcards from a B4 have been fitted and does look very good. Also has a factory leather seats fitted, and an auto dipping mirror from an A6 which looks very neat.
Toys/Options wise, it had the usual Sport goodies, plus sunroof, headlamp wash, heated seats, computer, outside temp display, 3 spoke steering wheel, map reading lights, but no air con or rear sunblind.
It was a very nice car. The owner is fairly local.

It is great to see Dave's car out and about. I agree with Darren on the colour.
His new badges are particularly nice.

I am indeed, only St Helens. Despite being a long-time-lurker on the forums, this is my first post - which I shall use to thank everyone for their kind comments about my 10v quattro  Nice to meet you on Sunday Ken, was nice to see someone point out all the bits and pieces I have spent weekends working on and losing sleep over

To the list of mods I can add:

-BillzcatII short shift using factory gear lever & leather knob
-Floor console with extra cigarette lighter and illuminated rear ashtray.
-Coupe heated door lock on drivers door, which itself is a B4 door to get the revision inside which stops the window rattling when down. Had to replace the drivers wing as rusty but got an original Audi wing off a tidy B3 80 in scrappers - paintwork all tidied up at the same time.
-Electric Headlamp Level adjust
-Coupe rear centre lap belt (retractable)
-Audi Cabriolet leather handbrake
-Cabriolet dash centre with Audi Delta CC radio (A8 D2 CD changer compatible with Delta in boot)
-Front heated leathers were from an S2 Avant along with the seat loom, I retained the 90 headrests. All working and great in the winter.
-Also polybushed the front wishbones and anti roll bar.

Those refurbished ET37 wheels are the legacy of my old 2.2E, the quattro came with THE nastiest set of after markets you have seen in ages when I bought it in 2007 :shake:

Other than that just done maintenance - strut top mounts, rear wishbones, brakes all round (standard), new header tank, G12, timing belt, water pump, radiators, and regular oil & filter changes.

She has been good to me and I intend to keep her as long as she will have me!

Hello again! You are more local than I thought, as I am in Rainhill. Small world.
Great to see you on the Forum.

This was the 90 I was telling you about on Sunday.

http://i731.photobucket.com/albums/w...ps68f5a968.jpg

Identical fully specced car, I had this about 10 years ago.

Great to see it in the metal! It really is a small world, Rainhill, that is close! How have we not seen eachother driving round in satin black quattros!

Mind you 10 years ago, would have been in my sapphire blue 2.2E!

Sadly both Satin Black 90s have long since met their maker.
This is my current 90.

Welcome , your 90 is a fine looking & tastefully upgraded car , really spot on

Mellis46 21-08-14 11:05 AM

That's really, really lovely Ken

My 2.2E had the same spoiler, used to like polishing its chrome too!

Great to see another 90, and so local too.

There is another I know of, a black 20v sport, H-reg that I have seen parked up on Huyton business park off Wilson Road. Might you know that one? Its satin black like mine, and I work round the corner - I often think what are the chances of that

Yep, seen the black H Plate (Panther, rather than Satin Black) around and about on the Speke Retail Park near the airport. Not a patch on yours, to be fair!

I stand corrected! ;) I only saw it down a side road - thanks again for being so complimentary about the car, I have only recently started to show it off. First and foremost its been my daily driver, hankering after a newer Audi but only having a limited budget - then I saw on the internet 2 guys commenting on the apparent rarity of the 10v 90 quattros in sports guise, and the penny dropped

First and only piece of good luck seeing it on ebay that day!
