What would be your ultimate road car?

Leaving aside financial constraints, if you had to pick one, and one only, ultimate road car ( no rally cars or similar allowed) what would it be and why?

I'll start off with my choice, lots of reasons why I'd have this, but it's mostly down to the way it looks:

How would your choice change if you could only have one car (free of charge) in the household, BUT you had to
insure it,
fuel it,
service it,
daily drive it
etc.
and keep it for five years
Hmm!

Photo curtesy of Aston Martin..

Reasons.... its new, its blisteringly fast, comfortable, ideal for huge GT runs, charismatic, entertaining, exciting and just a car to aspire to.... Its a proper Aston through and through.... Love it....

Yep.... I'd love to be an old fart in that.... Better than being an old fart in a car they can't drive because of their dickie hip, piles or whatever... The Aston is a classic British car, brand new....

john johnson 09-10-13 07:00 PM

Sorry ... Grumpy old farts car :o

Bugmaster 09-10-13 07:12 PM

Makes me miss my GTR, although mine was a little more tame with "only" 800bhp. Good for very low tens though...

+1 (but would need to have a careful look at the colour chart):cool:
- and I'd happily be labelled as an old fart!

It just oozes thoroughbred British engineering - a fantastic car

Nice to see it had a tax disc :tup:

What engine and turbo setup were you using:D

I'm with Simmo. old fart maybe, but comfortable old fart.
I might even volunteer to deliver a new battery to Shuffled to rescue that polished white aRSe thingy while I run it in;)

Those ET Streets are awesome, the grip is phenomenal.

The car had to be taxed and tested to qualify for the street class that I ran in.

Engine was a 2.7 HKS block with a T88 turbo. Bit of a lag monster but pulled hard once it got going.

Hate to say it but the new Alpina D3 touring might just be the best looking estate ever, goes like stink (0-62 in 4.8) and still officially cracks 50mpg!

Good timing - just come onto pistonheads - http://www.pistonheads.com/news/defa...?storyId=28632
