They are on the inside towards the centre console.

You can swop the base over i have put some 83 seats (lever on the inside) in my 85 wr which has the lever on outside takes about 20 mins a seat once you have done it

Yes, did that myself to get early Coupe leather interior into the CQ. Swapped bases over to use CQ ones (repaired foam at the same time) and used 2 good backrests in same leather from '84 WR.

Have you still got these and got any pics? Also where abouts are you located and how much you looking for?
