1981 gt5 s

NCTS. Looks like a nice early example. Shame about the nasty wheels and aftermarket sunroof but has potential to look great

I have some Cookie Cutters correct wheels and a lot of spares from an Inari Green GT I broke last year if it helps anyone

It looks very smart.

DVLA have it as unlicensed rather than SORN, and the date of liability as 1st May 1996. If that was the last time it was taxed then 'been stored in a garage for a while' should read 'been off the road for over 17 years'.

It'll be interesting to see what it goes for.

If that's the case, it's bound to have seized brakes unless the handbrake been left off, moved reguarly and keep in very dry storage!

Certainly potential there from the limited photo's to see

It says seat's in good condition so could be low mileage and its In my fav colour combination if I was looking for another car this would be it

Coxy 18-06-13 06:00 AM

that's a very early one. What's the registration date of Pearlmars's brown (saturn bronze) one as I'm, fairly sure it's registered around the same time although his is a late w reg.

Minty 18-06-13 06:33 AM

Missed this thread.Great to see another early CGT.It looks in very good condition and the headlamp surrounds look superb.
No mention of mileage???Who won it?

CV35Ian 24-06-13 09:05 AM

Nope was cycling 85 miles into a 25mph headwind yesterday from Holland to Dunkirk, no time to bid and missed ferry by 15mins after 9 hours cycling - so a double whammy really!

I had a few messages back and forth with the bloke - mileage is 115,000. Interior has faded quite badly apparently. I asked several times for better photos, including underneath but he never sent them! I love the quadlamp but I wouldn't pay £1,000 for one without an MOT or tax.

I'd say £1k is about right.

Negatives are that it has been off the road for years and will therefore cost quite a lot to get back in ticket, it has non-standard wheels and aftermarket sunroof, but on the upside its looks sound and ones in good condition are rare.

Personally I think you have to want one rather than look at it in strict economic terms - if I had spare garage space pending reviving it I'd have paid £1k.
