Coupe GY donor car - free/cheap parts

Hi guys

I've just bought a coupe GT on the bay and I'm pretty much lifting the interior out of it along with the lights, fuel tank, wiper motors, regs, handles etc.

Other than those I've not got the time or inclination to strip if further. With that in mind are there any parts that anyone particularly needed?

The car is in West Sussex and I'm open as to whether people want to collect the remainder of the car or come down to strip the parts you wanted yourself.

If you could let me know asap so I can start divvying up the car that'd be great.

Cheers

Dave

(P.S. Merry Christmas!)

Rear wash bottle if its not broken or cracked would be useful. :)

If you want the engine and gearbox you can have them gratis, free, for nada, zip, zilch.

But you've got to get them yourself! West Sussex the car is, you can either come down and take them out yourself or take the entire car less what I'm taking.

At the moment Gouldy I'm open to offers if you wanted to go splits on transportation it would save me driving to west sussex and splitting it on someones driveway!

Gouldy 09-08-10 07:24 PM

what kind of costs would you be looking at mate? also any pics you cna send??

Daveymaclad 09-08-10 08:10 PM

Hi Gouldy I only need a few parts (fuel tank, carpet, lights etc) so if you wanted to contribute transport costs to yours you can have whatever I don't need!

Daveymaclad 10-08-10 04:56 PM

I would have thought more people would be interested in free parts :S

Message me before the end of tomorrow as I'm picking the car up on Thursday and whatever I don't take off is going to the scrappy

Just out of interest are you removing the fuel tank to go in your wr ?

Daveymaclad 10-08-10 05:22 PM

That's the plan assuming it's not too difficult to remove the fuel tank by a relative amateur!?

darreno'd' 10-08-10 05:56 PM

Removing it will not be a problem, refitting into a quattro bootspace will. The quattro boot is much shallower due to the rear diffs etc and a gt tank wont fit, it's too tall. It may also have the outlets on the wrong side, although i'm happy to be corrected on that score.

Daveymaclad 10-08-10 06:45 PM

Balls! I honestly didn't think the tanks would physically be a different size owing to cost savings! I know the fuel filler is on the same side but I'm not sure about the other side! Guess I'll find out soon enough :)

Worth removing regardless. There's plenty of bits I can remove from the car that will justify the price of the car to me!

Thanks for the heads up.

Drivers side window motor? would be very gratefull

Daveymaclad 10-08-10 08:43 PM

I'll be removing the window motor for sure, although that'll be going up for sale to pay for the car! You're welcome to make an offer for it, else I'll chuck it up on the bay

stoop44rio 10-08-10 09:00 PM

99% sure the tanks will be different as said due to the quattro floor. in fact, the more i think they are different. i just after reading up on this last week on the vw/audi vortex forum or whatever its called.
